12th Honors English/ Expository Composition/ Ms. Rhude Place the following items (in bold font) in the order as listed. Also include this Guideline/Checklist tucked into the front of your portfolio. Title Page __ The following information is included in a creative way: Career Research Portfolio, your name, your career choice and industry, MLA heading information and some art. Be sure to cite graphic. Table of Contents __ Title of each section with accompanying page number(s) Each section must be titled Executive Summary (This is a summary of your entire project; it is to introduce your project and your process; it is not your proposal though some parts of your proposal will be in this summary) (~300 words) __ Includes your career choice and brief introduction __ Process of research __ Briefly note what was found __ Explanation of why you chose this career PART I: Background (~200 words) __ Brief introduction to who you are __ Discuss your Myers Brigg results __ Explain why you agreee/ disagree with the Myers Brigg results by providing examples from your life PART II: Career Information (~200 words) __ Brief description of career and industry __ Tie your choice into your understanding of your personal experiences, interests, etc PART III: Education and Training Information __ Required education, degrees, licenses, credentials, etc (Be as specific as possible, map it out) __ Compare and contrast two universities or schools that offer training or education in/for your field. Include tuition or unit costs, books, and other expenses, fees, etc. (If you plan to attend graduate school, include additional information as above) __ Include coursework units, schools area of expertise, course requirements, school rankings and time it will take to complete the program or education/training needed. __ Outline the various educational or occupational paths one can take to pursue this career (include training and length of time required) __ Salary (Three levels needed: Beginning, average, highly experienced ranges, and dependent on level of education) __ Career paths directions your chosen career can take you (what advancements are available?) __ Other pertinent information not listed (but part of your career path) PART IV: Conclusion (~250 words) __ Describe any additional information or any clarification you still need to obtain __ Explanation if you will or will not pursue the career you researched __ Explanation of your reasons __ Comment on anything else youve decided as a result of this project PART V: Appendix __ Functional Resume __ Any additional information relating to the report __ Include business letters you have written/sent __ Include information from your informational interview __Copy of the PowerPoint presentation storyboard. __ ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY

REMEMBER to check for spelling, grammar and style! EVERYTHING should be cited in MLA form. Absolutely NO handwritten work can be submitted. Black ink, Times New Roman, font 12, with 1 margins ONLY. Follow MLA guidelines. Any sections with a suggested word count must be in paragraph form, otherwise feel free to utilize graphs, timelines, charts, and other effective graphics.
