Read all instructions and listen to the instructor carefully. Part A: Logging onto Ponderosa Highs Network: Username: First four characters of your last name and Last four numbers of your student ID Your instructor will tell you how to determine your password. Notice the various drives available to you: _____________ Your Personal drive, it will be labeled with your User ID. _____________ Your instructors drive which is labeled ________________________. Any file you need for class will be located in the appropriate folder. Double click your H:drive and double click inside your My Documents folder. Create a folder for this class: o To create a folder, right click in the right side (contents pane) and select new, folder. Call it Foundations-flastname Period #. Where flastname is your first initial and your last name and the # sign is the period you have this class. o Notice the folder appears below your folder in the Navigation pane (left side). The Contents pane is empty. Create 6 new folders within the Foundations folder, one for each unit. Label them the following (include the number): o 1-File Management o 2-Internet Research o 3-Excel o 4-Access o 5-Word o 6-PowerPoint Part C: Accessing Ponderosa High Schools Network and your instructors folder Select Public on phs_staff (P:) find your Instructors folder, and double-click Select the Foundations-Classroom Files folder and double-click Find the File Management folder, and double click inside the folder Copy the Windows 7 Folder and paste it into your File Management folder
