DESIGN GUIDE
ECIR The Ecumenical Center and International Residence is an intentional living-learning community for students and visiting scholars from around the world. It is a local community in Ann Arbor, and plan to join or affiliate with International Housing Worldwide. In my design, I first come to think about the local feature of Ann Arbor. Oak tree is the symbol of Ann Arbor city, which is used on its city seal. So, I plan to use Oak nut (Acron) as the main part of my logo. Second, since ECIR is an international Housing, I need to add some future of a house. Since ECIR may change its name, so the logo does not include its name. The following is the design precedure.
Inspired by the design of Apple Logo, I use the golden ratio to create the guided circle, And use the guided circle to draw the main body of the logo, the oak nut. For the door, I just use its outline shape, and the arch is also used the one of the guided circle. I just ues one color, since it will be suitble for different color background, and also looks more prefessional and simple. I use the orange color, because it give the warm feeling, like a home.
