CEO MESSAGE
In July 2012 we, as NTS-Pakistan have completed 10 years of successful operation. Over this period, we have achieved important landmarks and have positioned NTS as the leading testing and assessment organization of Pakistan. Since our inception, we have been providing solutions to the dynamic educational and business environment, to meet the current and future challenges in educational and professional testing and assessment. Our strength is our legacy of accepting challenges to respond to the growing demands of educational and professional institutions with great commitment and transparency. We are on the growth to add more service divisions and to make new strides for improving testing and assessment in the country. We also aim at becoming an internationally recognised, accredited, and futuristic organisation in testing and assessment services. We are now acquiring new technologies and learning new techniques to develop new testing products. I would take this opportunity to compliment for NTS Board of Governors, Board of Directors, Academic Committee, Subject Committees, Test Item contributors and Vice chancellors of NTS associated universities and Heads of Associated Professional Organizations in continued development of NTS. Introduction
National Testing ServicePakistan (NTS) is Pakistan's first selfsustained testing organization, which administers tests and assessments for admission, scholarship, recruitment and promotion purposes. NTS also contributes in Human Resource Development (HRD) by organizing training and capacity building sessions, and conducts Research & Development (R&D) specifically in the field of educational testing and evaluation. NTS was established in July 2002, in response to expressed need for a testing service in the National Education Policy (1998-2010) and the Information Technology (IT) Policy of Government of Pakistan (GoP). By June 2012, NTS assessed proficiency of over 3.0 million individuals who appeared in various disciplines for their future educational and professional progression. Having completed ten years, NTS is now playing a pivotal role in promoting merit and quality education not only to the educational sector but also to the public and private sector organizations. NTS tests and assessments are now pre-requisite of many prime public and private sector engineering, medical and other professional colleges, universities and institutions for admission and recruitment purposes. The ever promised objective of NTS is to offer affordable, standardized and reliable tests for all individuals who wish to rise. NTS always strives for excellence and ensures quality, efficiency, reliability, accuracy and most significantly credibility of entire system in a transparent manner under strict security arrangements. This is transpired because of intellectual and academic collaboration of stakeholders from different universities and professional organizations including, COMSATS Institute of Information Technology (CIIT), Higher Education Commission (HEC), and associates serving in different public and private sector entities of Pakistan. NTS, an ISO 9001:2008 certified and a member of the International Association for Educational Assessment (IAEA)-USA organization, has made further marks by receiving international attention for partnerships with some of the most renowned agencies worldwide, including ETS-USA, CITO, B.V. Netherlands.

This test is for admissions in NTS Associated Universities and degree awarding institutions (DAIs). The candidates having 12-14 years of education appear in a single test only and stand eligible for admission to all universities in the respective subject group. The candidates are required to apply for admission in the universities as per their respective announcements along with a copy of the NTS Result Card. This test is held twelve times in a year and its result remain valid for one year.
This test is an essential requirement for admission in MS/M.Phil programs in all universities and DAIs of Pakistan the same test is used for the award of HEC and Ministry of Education Scholarships. GAT- General test is held on quarterly basis. The result of the test remains valid for two years and similar to International GRE-General.
This test is pre-requisite for admissions in PhD programs in all universities of Pakistan. The test is held four times a year and result of this test remains valid for two years. This test is also be used for recruitment or promotions by many public and private organizations. This test is similar to International GRE-Subject.

An English Proficiency Test by NTS for organizational communication bundled with GAT - Subject is offered to all graduates, potential job applicants and for use by employer's community in Pakistan in public and private sectors. The aim of NTD is to fulfill the needs of educational institutions by conducting a standardized recruitment test for potential and existing faculties engage in teaching to primary and secondary level classes. The NTD associates are also provided free access to the database for selection of suitable candidates. NTD Test Score is valid for Two Years. The test certify teachers in subjects of their choice at district level. NTS in collaboration with Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) and Pharma Bureau has initiated a MRC Program for professional development and quality enhancement of the medical representatives. The aim is to provide valuable services to the pharmaceutical industry. The test measures the minimum acceptable technical knowledge, professional selling skills and good business practices in the sales / marketing professionals. NTS also offers international tests such as TOEFL and TOEIC in Pakistan. In this regard, NTS has signed a formal contract with ETS-USA, the largest testing service organization of the world, as ETS Preferred Associate (EPA). By virtue of the contract, NTS is the sole distributor and promoter of ETS products including, TOEFL (ITP), TOEIC L&R, TOEIC - S&W and TOEIC A-1 English Test - required as per new immigration laws of United Kingdom and UK Border Agency (UKBA) in Pakistan. Are prepared and administered to gauge intellectual ability or aptitude of an individual as per requirements of associate organizations and market. NTS uses e-marking software for swift marking system by using OMR technology. This system automates e-marking of forms (Answer Sheets) and helps in making efforts in reducing assessment and marking time considerably.

Data Processing Services provides extra ordinary data entry support services and consistent quality to the clients. It adapts to the challenges of continuous evolution in order to meet the ever changing needs of your business through dependable staff. Monitoring and Evaluation ensures transparency of the tests administered and communicates tests progress to the client. We make certain strict compliance to the SOPs during the real time test environment. We also provide interviewing facility especially for the recruitment purposes. NTS also contributes in Human Resource Development by organizing training and capacity building workshops. Realizing the fact that Pakistan does not have proper institute to impart training on an internationally recognized and standardized testing / examination paper construction and marking techniques, NTS in collaboration with HEC has designed a series of workshops for teaching faculties of public and private sector educational institutions including universities and Higher Education Institutions (HEI) of the country. The objective of the program is to acquaint faculty members with pre-steps in student's evaluation and techniques of effective test item construction and paper marking. NTS professionals offers consulting services, teachers' training, technical assistance and other solutions to institutions, private and corporate business and government organizations throughout Pakistan. ? 116 full time employees as well as Support Pool has facility of about 10,000 highly trained personnel for test administration and invigilation to meet the growing challenges of testing and assessment in the country. ? The head office (Secretariat) is situated at Islamabad and four provincial offices at Karachi, Lahore, Quetta Peshawar and Abbottabad are responsible for carrying out entire business independently. ? Capability of administering paper - based test for 300,000 candidates in 60 cities and computerbased tests in 20 cities which could be extended to 36 cities of Pakistan simultaneously. ? About 20,000 application forms processing capability per day. ? NTS has about 300 institutions on panel as test centers. ? The Test Item Bank contains more than 200,000 test items in all disciplines of Engineering, IT, Medicine, Management, Natural and Social Sciences. ? NTS has different subject panelists with more than 2,000 test item contributors from prestigious universities and reputed professional organizations of Pakistan.

Progress
By June 2012, NTS has administered tests and assessments in various disciplines for educational assessment, scholarships, recruitment and promotional purposes. More than 3 million candidates from reputable associates, partner institutions and organizations have appeared in the NTS tests since its inception. Currently 184 partners / associates are taking advantage of NTS products and services. Over this period NTS Test Item Data Bank has reached more then 200,000 test items.
