It is the objective of SAQCC Fire to provide competency levels for all Authorised persons working in these areas of expertise. 3. REGISTRATION
Registration with SAQCC Fire for those persons operating in the areas of fire detection is provided at 5 levels. Level 1 Level 2 Level 3 Level 4 Level 5 4. REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION Cabler Installer Serviceman

Any
person
may
register
at
any
one
level
for
fire
detection.
If
a
person
is
already
registered
for
a
fire
category
with
SAQCC
Fire
he
may
also
register
for
one
level
of
fire
detection.
To
qualify
for
registration,
one
must
meet
the
requirements
laid
down
in
the
Skills
document
attached
to
the
application
form.
From
inception,
until
one
year
(twelve
months),
one
may
register
under
the
Initial
Registration
Clause.

5.
An affidavit must be completed by the applicant and his/her company manager that the applicant is proficient in the associated tasks listed for that level in the skills document. A selected SAQCC Fire Detection & Suppression committee will vet the application for approval. The Initial Registration Clause will expire one year (twelve months) from date of inception. All applications and renewals after that date will be subject to training and /or examination requirements to prove competency. 6. CONTINUED PROFESSINAL DEVELOPMENT
All persons applying for re registration after the sunset period of twelve months, will be subject to training requirements and /or examination to prove competency. All registered persons will be subject to a review every 3 years to ensure Ongoing Professional Development is maintained. 7. FEES

DUAL

a
time
(i.e.
Detection
and
Gas)
with
SAQCC
Fire
the
second
registration
fee
will
be
charged
at
R200
per
annum.
(The
highest
level
applied
for,
plus
the
additional
R200)

REGISTRATION
APPROVAL
Applications
for
registration
as
a
fire
detection
Authorised
person
will
be
vetted
by
a
selection
committee
appointed
by
SAQCC
Fire
Detection
&
Suppression
Committee,
on
a
monthly
basis
(your
application
could
take
6
weeks
to
process)
On
acceptance
of
the
application
the
applicant
will
be
notified
in
writing
and
be
informed
for
which
level
he/she
has
been
registered
and
be
supplied
with
a
registration
card
and
number.
The
successful
applicants
details
will
be
added
to
the
SAQCC
Fire
Detection
&
Suppression
Committee
register
and
posted
on
the
SAQCC
Fire
web
site.

9.
REGISTRATION CARD
All successful applicants will receive a registration card. The registration cards are printed with the Authorised person name, photograph, registration number and a colour coded stripe indicating which sector of the fire industry he is registered in. The following colour coding applies Red - Green - Fire detection Gas extinguishing
The red and green striped cards will be printed with a level number for which level the Authorised person is registered in. A card may carry more than one colour stripe for Authorised persons registered in more than one category. The Authorised person must carry this badge with him at all times whilst working on a fire detection system 10. DURATION OF REGISTRATION
The Initial Registration Clause will terminate one year (twelve months) from date of inception. Registrations are conducted on an annual basis and from 2013 onward will be based on training requirements and/or examination to ensure competency within that level of grading. Registration is an annual process. Every 3 years registered Authorised persons will be subject to re-examination to comply with Continued Professional Development requirements. 11. CODE OF CONDUCT
Accompanying each application form is a code of conduct that must be read, agreed and signed by each applicant. 12. DISCIPLINARY PROCEDURES
Should
it
be
reported
in
writing
that
any
registered
SAQCC
Fire
Detection
&
Suppression
Authorised
person
is
not
conducting
himself
within
the
Code
of
Conduct
he
will
be
subject
to
disciplinary
procedures
as
laid
down
by
the
SAQCC
Fire.
The
SAQCC
Fire
reserves
the
right
to
discipline
any
Authorised
person
within
the
Code
of
Conduct
and
Constitution
of
the
SAQCC
Fire
and
withdraw
the
Authorised
person
if
found
guilty.

13. PSIRA
All
Authorised
persons
working
in
the
field
of
fire
detection
are
legally
required
to
register
with
PSIRA
as
this
is
a
compulsory
requirement
in
terms
of
the
Security
act.
This
remains
the
responsibility
of
the
Authorised
person
and
not
SAQCC
Fire
.
