FSU Jazz Faculty Sextet to Headline the Saturday in the Park October Concert Event Hosted by the Downtown Tallahassee Business Association & Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority
Tallahassee, Fla. The Downtown Tallahassee Business Association (DTBA) and the Tallahassee Downtown Improvement Authority (TDIA) will host the seventh concert in their 2013 Saturday in the Park Concert Series on Saturday, October 5, 2013, from 8 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. EDT in Ponce de Leon Park, Tallahassee. Headlining this months event will be the FSU Jazz Faculty Sextet. The Saturday in the Park Concert Series is free and open to the public. The Florida State University (FSU) Jazz Faculty Sextet is comprised of fulltime, tenured professors in the College of Music. Each brings a unique perspective to the musical group giving this team a personality of its own. This band plays early jazz through modern music and includes Professor William Bill Kennedy on saxophone, Professor William Bill Peterson on piano, Professor Rodney Jordan on bass, Professor Williams Scotty Barnhart on trumpet, Professor Paul McKee on trombone and Professor Leon Anderson on drums.
