1 WELCOME TO THE WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

This document provides the approved method for installing the Windows 7 or Server 2008 operating system on supported DeltaV workstation or server class machines. Installing any operating system is a major undertaking and Windows 7 is no exception. To streamline this process, we provide an operating system (OS) image recovery DVD with all DeltaV workstations. This DVD will recover the operating system in less than 30 minutes, resulting in an out-of-the-box readiness for installing the DeltaV software. The operating system recovery DVDs are specifically created for each Emerson Process computer model supported. The installation methods in this document instruct how to use these DVDs to recover all supported computers to their approved Windows 7 or Server 2008 image. This approach is not only faster and easier to implement than a manual installation, but also ensures that 1) DeltaV-specific Windows operating system settings are always set as tested to eliminate any human error; 2) Customers can be assured that only supported computer models can be recovered and those models will always have the correct operating system installed; 3) Proper Microsoft licensing is maintained. Customers can be assured that every computer being recovered to Windows 7 or Server 2008 is properly licensed (that is, only those ordered by VE# as specified in the DeltaV Release Notes). It is important that users properly store and have access to

these image recovery DVDs for each computer type in their system as these are required to reinstall the OS in the event of a computer problem. The image recovery process is the only Emerson supported method for restoring the operating system.

Because the recovery DVD quickly and easily recovers the operating system, it is not necessary to perform the manual steps of the past. Therefore, the Windows 7Help document does not provide step-by-step instructions on how to manually install the OS. Emerson Process Management will provide Windows 7 or Server 2008 OS Recovery DVDs for an approved list of hardware as defined by a list in Emersons KBA AK-10000068. Note: This list is updated with new PCs and servers added as they are released. Please read and understand all instructions before using the Recovery DVDs. This image recovery process will completely erase all data on your hard drive. It is important to understand the process before beginning.

The following topics provide instructions for restoring Windows on a DeltaV system. After installing the Windows operating system you can continue with installing the DeltaV Software. Also included here is additional information on configuring other hardware and operating system options. Refer to the sections below for the list of topics available.

2 BEFORE INSTALLING A NEW WINDOWS OPERATING SYSTEM

The following information is crucial to a successful Windows 7 or Server 2008 Installation. Please read, understand, and follow all information given here. This document should be used for a clean installation of Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 on a DeltaV ProfessionalPLUS workstation, DeltaV Application Station, or DeltaV Operator station. It assumes current hardware configurations as shipped. Current computers shipped for the installation of DeltaV on Windows 7 or Server 2008 are configured with a 146 GB or larger hard disk drive. Of that 146 GB, 40 GB is allocated for the System Disk (C:) and the rest of the space is allotted to the D: partition. Variations in hardware configuration (such as, changes to IP addresses, binding order, video resolution, dual redundant controllers, use as a remote, etc.) will change the default settings listed in this document. Now is a good time to save any information you need since it will be lost in this process. This is a clean installation of Windows, not an upgrade. In addition, you will need to make note of the system settings listed below: Computer Name and Environment (workgroup or domain). 1. Right click the Computer icon on the desktop and choose Properties. 2. Write down the node name and the type of environment (workgroup or domain). Network Card (NIC) IP Addresses 1. Right click the Network icon on the desktop and choose Properties. 2. For Windows 7, click Change adapter settings. For Windows Server 2008, click Manage network connections. 3. Right click each network card connection, and then click Properties. 4. Choose Internet Protocol Version 4. 5. Right click and select Properties. 6. Write down the IP addresses, DNS address, and subnet mask. NOTE: Defaults in images are 10.4.0.1, 10.8.0.1, 192.168.1.1, and 192.168.10.1 Note which Ethernet cable is hooked to which NIC card. If you are running a DeltaV system, disconnect your cables and view diagnostics. Label those cables as needed.

Note whether the current configuration is setup for DeltaV Remote, note the IP address, subnet mask and DNS address if used. Install the anti-virus software on the computer before connecting it to the network. With only the operating system installed, the computer is vulnerable to viruses and security breeches. Any Microsoft security updates that are approved at the time of release are installed as part of the DeltaV installation. New Microsoft security updates are evaluated and, if approved, posted as an Emerson Knowledge Base Article.

3 EMERSON PROCESS MANAGEMENT RECOVERY DVD

The Emerson Process Management Recovery DVD is a fully functional image creation and recovery tool. It creates and recovers Emerson supported images of Windows 7 or Server 2008. The supported use is to recover the image on a computer that has the same hardware configuration when it was originally shipped. PLEASE READ THROUGH ALL OF THESE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY BEFORE USING THIS DVD. THIS IMAGE RECOVERY PROCESS WILL COMPLETELY ERASE ALL DATA ON YOUR HARD DRIVE.

Simple Recovery
Make sure all LAN cables are disconnected and no USB mass storage devices (flash keys, external CD drives, etc.) are connected to the computer. Make sure the computer will boot first to the DVD drive. During the initial DELL Power On Self Test (POST) screen, press the Boot Menu option (F12 for most workstations, F11 for most servers) if needed to select the DVD as the boot device. Recovering an image on a Hard disk divided into two partitions (C: and D:) 1. Turn on your computer, insert the Recovery DVD in the DVD tray and close the tray. 2. When you see a prompt asking if you want to boot to the DVD, press <Enter>. 3. When the computer returns a command prompt (X:\windows\system32>) type E: and press <Enter>. 4. Type "cd tools" and press <Enter>. 5. At the prompt type "deploy" then press <Enter>. The DVD recovery process will go through a series of setup steps. You will be prompted to reboot when the process is completed. This may take a few minutes to complete. First, the Recovery DVD will clean the hard drive and create two new partitions named "DVSys" and "DVData". Second, the image (E:\image\dvimage.wim) will be written to the hard drive. Third, the boot sector will be configured to boot to the C: "DVSys" partition. When the process is complete you will receive a message to type exit to reboot.

6. Type "exit" at the prompt, then press <Enter> and remove the Recovery DVD from the DVD drive.

7. The computer will go through a few reboot and setup steps. For Windows 7 images, click next at the SetUp Windows screen, otherwise when prompted, enter a Computer Name and press <Enter>. Note: These images have had "sysprep" applied in order to provide a unique System Identifier (SID) and computer name. When the computer starts you will see the "sysprep" process followed by a restart. When prompted, enter a unique computer name and press <Enter>. If restoring an existing DeltaV computer, use the existing DeltaV systems computer name. The computer now displays a Standby! information page and completes the configuration. The recovery process is complete when the information page closes. At this point restart your machine and log on as normal.

Restoring an image on a Hard disk with one or no partitions (C: only): Another possibility is that no or one partition exists on the hard drive. In this instance Windows PE will assign the drive letter D: to the DVD drive. Since DVIMAGE requires the D: partition, steps must be taken to create new partitions on the hard drive. 1. Once again boot the Recovery DVD. In this case type D: then press <Enter>, then "cd tools" and press <Enter>. 2. Now, type "part" and press <Enter>. This will create the two partitions named "DVSys" and "DVData". 3. When this has completed type "exit" and proceed as above in the Simple recovery.

4 SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS DeltaV NIC Binding Order

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 bind communication protocols to the physical Network Interface Cards (NIC) in a particular order. That order can affect the performance of engineering a DeltaV system. The following is a listing of the NIC configurations and the binding order that will optimize your DeltaV system. A PC with redundant Control Network only (2 NICs) 1. DeltaV Secondary 2. DeltaV Primary A PC with redundant Control Network and a plant LAN not configured as an RDS (3 NICs - default). 1. DeltaV Secondary 2. Plant LAN 3. DeltaV Primary A PC with simplex Control Network and a plant LAN, not configured as an RDS (2 NICs). 1. DeltaV Primary 2. Configure the DNS Server Settings

NOTE: All Network cards must have Static IP address and must be connected to a network. 1. Double click 'Control Panel' 2. Double click 'Administrative Tools' 3. Double click 'Server Manager' 4. Click 'Roles' in the left frame 5. Click Add Roles 6. Click 'Next' 7. Check DNS Servicer 8. Click 'Next' 9. Click 'Next' 10. Click 'Install' 11. Click 'Close' 12. Click the 'X' in the upper right hand corner to close 'Server Manager'. 13. Double Click 'DNS Server' in 'Administrative Tools'. 14. Right click the computer that is the DNS server. 15. Click Properties. 16. Select the Interfaces tab NOTE: If your server is not connected to an outside network, keep the default of 'All IP Addresses'. However, if connected to an outside network, other computers can use this server as its DNS server. This server would service DNS requests from any computer and cause additional overhead. To prevent this situation from occurring, the following steps set up the DNS server to listen only for DNS requests on the DeltaV control networks. This ensures that the DNS server will never service DNS requests from any network other than the DeltaV control network.

Configuring the First Domain Controller

If the DeltaV System needs to be in a Windows domain environment, the ProfessionalPLUS station must be promoted as the first Domain Controller. Set up the Domain Controller (Active Directory and DNS) as follows. This procedure is applicable to systems running Windows Server 2008 only.
NOTE: All network cards must have static IP address and must be connected to a network. There must be a DNS Server available or DNS Server Service must be installed and configured before starting this procedure.

1. Open 'Control Panel'. 2. Double-click 'Administrative Tools'. 3. Double-click 'Server Manager'. 4. Click 'Roles' in the left frame. 5. Click Add Roles in the right frame. 6. Click 'Next'. 7. Check Active Directory Domain Services. 8. Click 'Next'. 9. Click 'Next'. 10. Click 'Install'. 11. Verify that the installation completes then click 'Close'. 12. Click the '+' in front of 'Roles' in the left frame. 13. Click "Active Directory Domain Services" in the left frame. 14. Click the link Run the Active Directory Domain Service Installation Wizard (dcpromo.exe) in the right frame. 15. Check the Use Advanced Mode Installation. 16. Click 'Next'. 17. Click 'Next'. 18. On the Choose a Deployment Configuration dialog, select Create a new domain in a new forest. 19. Click 'Next'. 20. Specify the domain name on the FQDN of the forest root domain textbox. NOTE: Use the following naming convention for the Fully Qualified Domain Name: <Domain Name>.DeltaV.<Company Name>.Local 21. Click 'Next'.

22. Set the Domain NetBIOS name. The default value is based on the FQDN. 23. Click 'Next'. 24. Set the Forest functional level: 'Windows Server 2003'. 25. Click 'Next'. 26. Configuring an Additional Domain Controller in an Existing Domain

It is recommended that a second domain controller and DNS server be configured on the network. An existing Application station or a non-DeltaV server can be used for this purpose. Set up the Domain Controller (Active Directory and DNS) as follows. This procedure is applicable to systems running Windows Server 2008 only. NOTE: The DeltaV software must NOT be installed on the server being promoted as an additional Domain Controller. If it is, the procedure will cause the DeltaV installation to stop functioning. Uninstall the DeltaV software on this server before continuing. The promotion of an additional server to a domain controller requires that the IP protocol be set up to communicate between the existing domain controller and the server being promoted. Furthermore, the DNS server setting of the DeltaV NICs must be set to 10.4.0.6 (primary) and 10.8.0.6 (secondary). 1. Open 'Control Panel'. 2. Double-click 'Administrative Tools'. 3. Double-click 'Server Manager'. 4. Click 'Roles' in the left frame. 5. Click Add Roles in the right frame. 6. Click 'Next'. 7. Check Active Directory Domain Services. 8. Click 'Next'. 9. Click 'Next'. 10. Click 'Install'. 11. Verify that the installation completes then click 'Close'. 12. Click the '+' in front of 'Roles' in the left frame. 13. Click 'Active Directory Domain Services' in the left frame. 14. Click the link Run the Active Directory Domain Service Installation Wizard (dcpromo.exe) in the right frame. 15. 20. At the Network Credentials screen, specify the FQDN of the domain in which this computer will be a domain controller. On the Alternate credentials option, click the Set button and enter a domain administrator username and password. NOTE: To find the FQDN, go to the ProfessionalPLUS station and click Start | Settings | Control Panel | System. The FQDN is listed next to Domain: The recommended format is <Domain Name>.DeltaV.<Company Name>.Local 21. Click 'Next'. 22. On the Select a Domain screen, click Next. 23. On the Site Selection screen, click Next. 24. Retain the default selections on the Additional Domain Controller Options screen, then click Next. NOTE: If Static IP assignment dialog box appears, at least one of your network cards has a dynamic IP address which you must change to be static. a. Select No, I will assign static IP addresses to all physical network adapters. b. Right-click on 'Network' on the desktop. c. Click 'Properties'. d. Click Manage network connections. e. Go back to the Installation Wizard and Click Next again. Click Yes on the next pop up. 25. On the Install from Media screen, click Next. 26. On the Source Domain Controller screen, click Next. 27. The next part would be the Location for Database, Log Files and SYSVOL dialog. Accept the default values and click on Next. 28. Enter a strong password on the next dialog.

29. Click Next to display the summary. 30. At the Summary screen, review your selections and click Next. The AD Installation Wizard configures the server as a domain controller. This process can take several minutes. 31. At the Completing the Active Directory Installation Wizard screen, click Finish. 32. When prompted, click Restart Now to reboot the computer. 33. When the computer starts up, log in as an administrator. 34. The Manage Your Server screen is displayed. Close this window. This server is now a domain controller.

Install Terminal Server Host for DeltaV Systems

1. On the Windows Server operating system, double click 'Control Panel'. 2. Double click 'Administrative Tools'. 3. Double click 'Server Manager'. 4. Click 'Roles' in the left frame. 5. Click 'Add Roles'. 6. Click 'Next'. 7. Check 'Terminal Services'. 8. Click 'Next' twice. 9. Check 'Terminal Server'. 10. Check 'TS Licensing'. 11. Click 'Next' twice. 12. Select the 'Do not Require Network Level Authentication' radio button. 13. Click 'Next'. 14. Select the 'Per User' radio button. 15. Click 'Next'. 16. Select the user or group to which you want to grant Terminal Server access. 17. Click 'Add'. 18. Repeat for each user or group you wish to add. 19. Click 'Next' twice. 20. Click 'Install'. 21. Click 'Close'. 22. Click 'Yes' to restart the server.
NOTE: By default, on Windows Server 2008 operating systems, members of the Administrators and Remote Desktop Users groups can use Terminal Services connections to connect to a remote computer. The Remote Desktop Users group is not populated by default, so you must decide which users and groups should have permission to log on remotely and then add them to this group. You must use the Remote Desktop Users group to grant selected users and groups the necessary permission to make Terminal Services connections to remote computers. Membership in the Remote Desktop Users group does not also put the user into the local Users group. Depending on the contents of your local Users group, you might need to add the user to that group also. Before you give users permission to access the Terminal Server, you must: Check the memberships of the Administrators group to ensure that you know who has access to the Terminal Server. Decide which users should have permission to access the Terminal Server. Determine which users must also be added to the local Users group.

Adding User Permissions for Terminal Server

The following table shows the steps you must take to give users permission to access the Terminal Server. Task Comments 1. Open Computer Management (Local) 2. In the console tree, click Local Users and Groups. 3. In the details pane, double-click the Groups folder. 4. Double-click Remote Desktop Users and click Add. 5. In the Select Users dialog box, click Locations to specify the search location. 6. To specify the types of objects that you want to search for, click Object Types. 7. In this case you want to search for Users or Groups. 8. Type the name that you want to add in the Enter the object names to select (examples) box, and then click Check Names. 9. When the name is located click OK. Note: To open Computer Management, click Start, click Control Panel, double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.

Double click 'Computer Management'. Click 'Local Users and Groups' in the left frame. 5. Double click the 'Groups' folder in the right frame. 6. Double click 'Users'. 7. Click 'Add'. 8. Click 'Locations' in the 'Select Users' dialog. 9. Click 'Object Types'. 10. Select 'Users'. 11. Types the name that you want to add in the 'Enter the object names to select (examples)' dialog. 12. Click 'Check Names'. 13. Click 'OK'.

1. Press <CTRL><R> to enter RAID controller configuration utility.
