Assume responsibility for correctness of all grade lines, levels, dimensions and location of all interfaces points.

Contractors Engineer A. Provide a qualified engineer, subject to approval of Consultant to perform the following: 1. Locate building lines and levels and ensure correct location and elevations. Establish grades, locate curbs, walk and paved area lines, levels and center.

Description A. Work Included: Throughout the Contract Documents, reference is made to codes and standards which establish types of workmanship and quality of materials, and which establish methods for testing and reporting on the pertinent characteristics. 1. It is the Contractors responsibility to provide materials and workmanship, which meet or exceed the specifically named code or standard. It is also the Contractors responsibility, when so required by the Contract Documents, to deliver to Consultants Representative all required proof that the materials, workmanship, meet or exceed the requirements of the specifically named code or standard. Such proof shall be in the form of certified report of tests conducted by an approved testing agency.

Quality Assurance A. Familiarity With Pertinent Codes and Standards In procuring all items used in this work, it is the Contractors responsibility to verify the detailed requirement of the specifically named codes and standards and to verify that the items procured for the use in this work equal or exceed the specified requirements. B. Rejection of Non-Complying Items The Consultants Representative reserves the right to reject items incorporated into the work which fail to meet the specified minimum requirements. C. Testing The contractor should hire an independent testing laboratory to conduct all tests required throughout the work. At all times, all records of tests should be accessible to the Owner or by his representative. The Consultants reserves the right to verify the tests to a separate testing laboratory at the expense of the contractor in case where further clarifications are needed.

Inspection and Inspectors A. Consultants Representative or other persons or firm appointed by owner for this purpose will periodically inspect the work and the Contractor will provide facilities and access to the work at all times as required to facilitate this inspection.

General Requirements A. Standards Sampling, preparation of samples and testing shall conform to applicable ASTM methods, unless otherwise specified. B. Report Two copies shall be furnished to the Consultants and/ or Owners Representative summarizing the results of each test and inspections. Each report shall clearly distinguish the type of test, location, the material tested and whether an original (first) test or a re-test and other related information. C. Notification The Consultants and / or Owners Representative and if applicable, other testing laboratory or agency, shall be notified 48 hours in advance of any work requiring testing or inspection. D. Cooperation The Testing Laboratory shall prepare, cure, store, etc., all job-made samples. E. Identification Materials passing test shall be marked or tagged by the Testing Laboratory and shall thereafter be kept separate and stored so as to facilitate identification. Part 1 General 1.01 Scope Of Work A. B. C. Quality Storage and Protection Submittals Prior to purchasing materials, the Contractor shall provide for approval, a complete materials list of all items proposed to be furnished and installed. 1.02 Quality A. Specified materials, equipments or products establish the minimum technical standards and the required quality. In every case material, equipment and products shall be new, without defects, and products and equipment shall be received in factory-sealed containers. Defects shall cause rejection of the product, equipment or material.

Substitutions A. Wherever catalogue numbers and specific brands or trade names followed by the designation or equal are used in conjunction with a designated material, product, item or service mentioned in these specifications, they are used to establish the standards of quality and utility required. Substitutions which are equivalent or equal in quality and utility to those specified will be reviewed for approval, subject to the following provisions: (by Consultant)

Sufficient data, drawings, samples, literature or other detailed information as will demonstrate that the proposed substitute is equal in quality and utility to the items of material specified. Manufacturers literature, specification sheets or samples of originally specified item for comparison. Failure to provide sufficient information to the satisfaction of the Consultants Representative will result in rejection of the submittal. Any approval by Consultant shall not relieve the contractor from complying with the requirements of the Drawings and Specifications and the Contractor shall be responsible at his own expense for any changes resulting from his proposed substitutions which affect other parts of his own or the work of other contractors. 1.04 Storage and Protection A. Prior or delivery of any material to the job site, the Contractor shall provide the manufacturers recommended method of handling and storage which shall become the basis for inspecting and accepting or rejecting actual storage and handling methods used on the work. Contractor shall properly store products per this specification and per manufacturers instruction to prevent damage to the products. Store flammable materials, such as paint materials, cleaning materials, rags, etc., in closed containers in well-ventilated locations approved by the Representative. Do not store in passageways or next to heating or electrical equipment.

Manufacturers In no way shall any list of manufacturers, included in these Specifications under any Sub-section titled, Manufacturers, be considered comprehensive or exclusive. Nor shall it be construed as limiting or excluding submittal for review and approval alternative manufacturers. These lists, of manufacturers are intended solely to identify manufacturers who may be able to supply specified items or equal. Materials produced by listed manufacturers, which do not satisfy the requirements of these specifications, shall not be used. - END OF SECTION -
