OPEN YOUR FILE 1) Open the file Sem 2 2004 Assessment.xls from your exam account. This is the only file that you will use for this assessment. Do not start another new file at any time during the assessment. 2) Resave the file to H:\Data with your name as the file name. Note: Use brackets for formulas and functions only when absolutely necessary. Marks will be lost where brackets are used unnecessarily. Use mixed referencing wherever possible. Marks will be lost where absolute referencing is used unnecessarily. Write formulas and functions so that they can be copied to all other same-colour cells without further editing. Create a variable where a reference is required for a formula. Any formula or function that contains a value will not be given a mark. Unless otherwise instructed, format all labels and values as Arial 10.

Question 1: Income and Expenses

Select the Income and Expenses Sheet. Format and complete this sheet as follows: 1) Rows 1 and 2: Main headings: Change the font size to 14 for both headings and the font style to Bold. Centre the two main headings across columns A-F but do not merge cells..

2) Insert one row after the main headings. 3) Insert one row after Total Income. 4) Apply bold to column headings and right align (Year 1 to Total). 5) Apply bold and italics to the eight subheadings in column A. 6) Grey cells: In the cell under Year 2 (Yearly Currency Allowance row) enter one formula to show a projected increased or decreased amount each year based on the variable figure. Copy the formula to all other grey cells without alteration to the formula. 7) Pink cells: In the cell under Year 2 (Representative 1 row) enter one formula to show a projected 2% increased amount each year. Copy the formula to all other pink cells without alteration to the formula

8) Enter a function to calculate all totals for Income and Expenses. 9) Enter a formula to calculate the surplus row. 10)Insert a top and double bottom border above and below the total income and total expenses figures. Insert a double bottom border below the surplus figures. 11)Calculate the minimum and maximum representative costs overall (blue cells) and key in the corresponding representative number (yellow cells). 12)An additional allowance will be made to representatives if $5,000 surplus is achieved in any year. Enter a function that will display Yes if $5,000 is achieved or No if this is not achieved. Write the function so that it can be copied to all cells of the same colour without alteration. 13)Display all values as dollars and no cents. Display the $ sign next to the value, not at the left margin of each cell 14)Clearly display all labels.

Note: 1) Shade the cells in the Product column and the main headings row as shown. 2) Centre the two main headings between columns B-E. 3) Centre Product within merged cells. 4) Centre column headings and apply wrap text for the second line of the heading. Question 3: Chart

Continue with the completed PDA Shipments Sheet to create a chart. Reproduce the following chart exactly as the example. Note: 1) Place your name as a right aligned footer on the chart. 2) Place your chart on a separate sheet. 3) Leave your chart as the original size. 4) Apply the font Comic Sans MS, 14 pt, to the Chart Title. 5) Apply bold to the legend and the X and Y axis titles. 6) Rename your sheet Unit Comparison.

Question 4: Foreign Exchange Rates

Select the Foreign Exchange Rates Sheet. 1) Change the two headings to Tahoma font, size 14, bold. Centre the headings across columns A-G. 2) Yellow Cells Enter one formula in cell C6 to calculate the New Zealand exchange rate against foreign currency. Copy the formula to all yellow cells without alteration to the formula. Format these cells to currency, no decimal places. 3) Blue Cells Under the heading Cost of each representatives travel, calculate the cost in New Zealand currency for each of the five representatives. In the blue cell alongside each representative, select the equivalent NZ currency for each country visited by that representative and apply a function to display the total cost. The table below identifies the countries each representative visited and the New Zealand currency allocated. 4) Grey Cells It has been decided to restrict travel for representatives who have exceeded their $5000 currency allowance. In cell C34 enter a function that will display travel permitted if the cost is less than $5000 or restrict travel if the cost is more than $5000. (Note: enter a variable to carry out this calculation). Write the function so that it can be copied to all grey cells without alteration.

Question 5: Invoice

Select the Invoice Sheet. Complete the calculations in all the coloured cells. 1) Pink Cell Enter a function to display todays date in the format: 14 March 2004. 2) Yellow Cells Calculate the total discount. Note: a 10% discount will apply if there are 3 or more travellers, otherwise the discount will be 0. Copy the function to the other yellow cells without alteration. 3) Green Cells Calculate the total price for each travel destination. Copy the function to the other green cells without alteration. 4) Blue Cell Calculate the subtotal. 5) Grey Cell Calculate the GST at 12.5%.

6) Orange Cell Total the subtotal and GST amount. 7) Sheet tab Rename the sheet tab Travel Invoice 8) Copy the Sheet Create a copy of the sheet. Rename the new sheet Invoice Formulas. Display the formulas on this sheet.
