Registration fees can be paid in cash during the onspot registration, However, it is advisable to register your name, designation, college, etc., by email as email confirmation would be better to avoid the last minute rush. Participants will be given the participation / attendance certificates in the valedictory function. The maximum number of participants is limited to 50. The selection process is based on first-come-first served basis and the selected participants will be informed by e-mail on or before 13th Friday, September 2013. Outstation participants have to arrange for their accommodation on their own cost. About the FDP on Latex

The workshop aims at providing the usefulness of LaTeX & its applications in the field of research publications (papers, seminars, thesis, and presentations). Majority of the publications, conference, journal papers, and thesis reports in the world today are expected to be in LaTeX format. Today, most document systems like Microsoft Work or Open Office are working based on the so called WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) concept. If you are used to this, working with LaTeX will be quite new to you. Instead of typing in a document showing the final layout, the document is typed as a simple text file. Special formats like headings of emphasizes are achieved by using LaTeXs markup commands. If you are used to HTML, this may be quite familiar to you, with the difference that LaTeX is focused on high quality printable documents like books. It is well suited for documents containing mathematical equations. To get the final output, the LaTeX source you have creates as a simple text file which is compiled by LaTeX compiler. The result will normally be a DVI, PostScript or PDF file. The workshop will be conducted by experienced personnel from academia, industry & from research institutions. Day 1 : 14th Sept. 2013, Sat, 8.30 AM 5.30 PM (Theory & Hands on practice) Registration, Inauguration about Miktex, Winedit, Technic Centre, Introduction to Latex, Installation of Latex & how to use it, Formatting text matter, Creating tables, figures, graphs, Handling mathematical equations & symbols, Conference & journal paper preparation, Preparation of power point slides, thesis reports, Error handling, Hands on experience (lab sessions), Examination & Quiz, Valedictory function, Review of the program by the participants, Group discussion, Issue of certificates, National Anthem, Group photo.

About HKBKCE, Bangalore HKBK College of Engineering, one of the premier educational institutions in the garden city of Bengaluru, was established in the year 1997 by Mr. C.M. Ibrahim under the Karnataka State Muslim Federation (R). The day today activities are looked after by the administrator-Mr. Abdul Hameed SA & Director-Mr. Faiz CM along with Principal - Dr. Manjunath. The institution is located in the heart of the city covering an area of 17 acres. The college is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to VTU, Belgaum. The institution is imparting quality technical education in 6 UG programs in various disciplines (CS, IS, EC, EE, ME, CIVIL) along with 4 PG courses (MBA, M.Tech.-Thermal Engg., M.Tech.-ECE, M.Tech-CSE). The college has signed MoUs with a number of organizations to provide worldclass quality training in latest technologies to the staff and students. In short period of 16 years, the institute has been recognized as one of the top engineering colleges of VTU in the state. Nearly 2000 students study in the campus and have more than 130 faculties & 100 supporting staffs. About the Dept. of CSE @ HKBKCE The CSE Dept. is continuously dedicated in imparting the computing knowledge at various levels to UG (120) & PG (18) students. Also, the CSE Dept. focuses on training the students to take up the new challenges in the field of CS & E and its applications to various sectors in IT, engineering and in research. The department is headed by an eminent academician, Dr. Mala Patil, a doctorate in the field of Data Mining, Big Data, Cloud-Computing & Software Engg. The dept. has 6 labs to facilitate the students to work on various programming aspects & for their projects. The dept. aims at fostering excellence in academic & research. The dept. has more than 30 teaching, non-teaching & supporting staffs.
