Creative Writing
Open Microsoft Word. Write a creative paragraph of at least 150 words about a recent news article. Give it a title. Center and underline the title. Within the paragraph, put ten different fonts. Highlight one or more words in your paragraph and change the size of the words. Change at least 10 words in the paragraph. Put a border around your paragraph. As well, run spell check and word count on your document. At the bottom of your document, type in how many words are in your document.

A Story to Remember
You must create a short story with at least three separate pages. Insert a graphic into each of the pages. Once the graphic is inserted, resize and centre the picture. Under each graphic, insert a text box into the document. Type at least 50 words tying your picture into your complete story. Make the text box bigger if you need to. Change or add a border to your text box. Each page must have a page number, date and time. The page number must be in the bottom right of the footer. The date must be in the header on the right side of the page. The time must be in the header on the left side of the page Do a spell check and word count. Type the word count at the bottom of the page.

From Rags to Riches Use the internet, newspaper, or magazine to research at least 3 celebrities from the entertainment world. NOTE: On your Microsoft Word document, check to see that the margin measurements are in centimeters. If not, go to the following link to learn how to change them to centimetres. Write a short biography about your celebrity List three movies they have been in. Students must demonstrate that they have used the "Tab" feature or the "Bullet" feature.

The first celebrity's movies must be three (3) centimetres from the margin using only the tab function. The second celebrity's movies must be 6 centimetres from the left margin with the same "Bullet" beginning each line. The third celebrity's movies must be 9 centimetres from the left margin with a different bullet beginning each line.

Open Microsoft Word 1. You need a border around the entire page. Open Format menu and select Borders and Shading Click the "Page Border Tab" Click the drop arrow beside "Art" which located near the bottom of the page. Choose one of the page borders and click OK. 2. Give your page a title from Word Art. Open Insert menu and select Pictures. Beside pictures choose a "Word Art". Choose one design and give your page a title. 3. Insert a graphic Copy one from the internet or Open the Insert menu

The first thing you must do is open up Microsoft Word. Next is to insert a table with 3 columns and 12 rows. In the center cell on top, place the title "Top Ten Your Choice." In the second row, place the word "Rank" in the first column, the word "Description" in the second column, and the word "Why?" in the third column. Under Rank column put the number "1" in the third row, "2" in the fourth row, "3" in the fifth row, and so on until you get to the number 10.
Under the Description column, describe what is your favourite of the heading you chose. Under the Why column, tell why you like it. Change the background colour of your table and the colour of your page. Be sure to type your name on the bottom of the page.

Open a new document in Microsoft Word. Give your page a title. Divide your page into three columns. Your page should have a title centered at the top and the three columns below it. Open Internet Explorer. Find an appropriate image from the internet. Paste your image in the first column. Write a short description of your image. Repeat the procedure, and paste a picture in each column with a description below each..

For this last lesson, you must combine all the skills from lessons 1 to 9 and create an attractive front page of a newspaper page. If you need a review on any of the skills, the lessons can be navigated through by the buttons on the left. In your newspaper you must have:
1. a title or name of your newspaper which will be centred on top. 2. three columns beneath the title. 3. one section or text box with a different background than the rest of the
paper. 4. five different types of fonts. 5. three different sizes of fonts. 6. an index to what could be in your newspaper done by inserting a 2 columned table within a frame. 7. at least two pictures, one must have a caption. 8. a text written ad placed in the header or footer. 9. an indented part of the page where a tab was used. 10. a border around one textbox. 11. a date placed in the upper right corner of the header. 12. at least 200 words long. This should be indicated in the bottom left of the footer.
