We, the Eucharistic Community of St. Joan of Arc Parish, by the grace of God and through our participation in His Word, the Churchs sacraments, and prayer, seek our eternal salvation. We live out the doctrines and traditions of our Faith in communion with the holy, catholic, and apostolic Church, established by Our Lord Jesus Christ. With courage, we follow the example of our patron saint and invoke her intercession as we strive to know God, love God and serve God which moves us to actively promote and live the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the midst of our every day life.

YEAR OF FAITH
Passages from the Documents of the Second Vatican Council
The truth is that only in the mystery of the incarnate Word does the mystery of man take on light. For Adam, the first man, was a figure of Him Who was to come, namely Christ the Lord. Christ, the final Adam, by the revelation of the mystery of the Father and His love, fully reveals man to man himself and makes his supreme calling clear. It is not surprising, then, that in Him all the aforementioned truths find their root and attain their crown. He Who is "the image of the invisible God" (Col. 1:15), is Himself the perfect man. To the sons of Adam He restores the divine likeness which had been disfigured from the first sin onward. Since human nature as He assumed it was not annulled, by that very fact it has been raised up to a divine dignity in our respect too. For by His incarnation the Son of God has united Himself in some fashion with every man. He worked with human hands, He thought with a human mind, acted by human choice and loved with a human heart. Born of the Virgin Mary, He has truly been made one of us, like us in all things except sin. - Gaudium et Spes, 22 PETERS PENCE Today we support the Holy Father in his charitable works. Even though our situation may never be resolved, the ministry is helpful with support and caring for people and, most important to me was their prayer support. We recommend this ministry to anyone having a difficult time coping with a desperate situation. And My Stephen Minister helped me to become grounded. I was made aware of what was good in my life. This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12

Hi Father, Thank you so much for having me in last weekend. You have a wonderful, welcoming parish. Their generosity was fantastic and currently we are well over $11,000 for the weekend! That has blown me away and literally had Sister Veronica in tears. A year ago she was faced with large funding cuts from CRS and looking at seriously having to pull down some programs. The help from the United States has made them able to move ahead with their Greenhouse Project and to begin generating their own funding. It now looks like (God willing) CBHC will be largely self-funded within a year or two at the most. Here's a link to the greenhouse page: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.383930941704852.82436.383851941712752&type=1 There are pictures of Greenhouse 2 being installed about 3 weeks ago. Just heard from Sister that they had 100% germination of the seedlings, so very good news. You can also see the tall corn that they can grow on the surrounding land using water from the new well and pump that U. S. donations paid for. CBHC is re-working their business plan right now because of the added funding, so I can't give exact information on how this will go. They have to begin looking at spending money to move the produce from the farm to the city (either renting or buying a large produce truck). But, to give you a rough idea, your parish alone has just funded roughly 2 of the 11 total greenhouses needed. That is awesome, Father. One impression I got from many of the people over there during my trip is that they are amazed that people 9000 miles away truly care about them. Personally, being involved in something like this and knowing that people are alive today because of our work has been a life changing event. It has truly shown me Our Lord's love of the poor and how we are called to help them. Thank you for helping us to help them. Pat
