Vision Statement
"We seek to promote good governance, by providing quality training towards building a professional and responsive civil service in a caring, ethical and transparent framework."
The success of this course depends as much on your enthusiastic engagement, as upon the design and delivery of the course, per se. While we assure you that the course team has taken utmost care in planning and designing the course and the faculty members in the Academy are second to none in their areas of expertise, it is your willingness to un-learn and re-learn, which will be the defining factor in the success of this course. We sincerely hope that you will imbibe the inputs and exposure that this programme affords, in the right earnest. We expect that you will go back to your respective jobs both refreshed and motivated with a commitment to make governance better and more effective. We wish you a very happy and fruitful stay at the Academy.
Course Theme
The theme of the course is 'Yogah Karmasu Kaushlam' (perfection in action is yoga) which is also the motto of the Indian Administrative Service. This theme is the embodiment of expectations from the Higher Civil Services. An act becomes perfect when you do it with all joy and without expecting anything in return. A karma yogi always chooses to follow the rules of dharma, basic ethics and morality. The underlying teaching here is that you are the author of your own actions. You can choose to do, or not to do or to do it differently. However, the results of those actions are totally out of your control. They may be exactly what you wanted, more than what you wanted, less than what you wanted or the total opposite of what you wanted. Learn to accept the result with equanimity. Experience disappointment if that is what arises but recognize that the 'Self' is unaffected by success or failure.
The real leader has no need to lead- he is content to point the way. -Henry Miller
