Qualified governments and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) committed to increasing technology access for underserved students now have an easy way to achieve this goal with MSIS. As a part of Microsoft Shape the Future, Microsoft is offering this educational software suite that includes Windows 7 Professional and Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010 at a specially discounted rate to governments and NGOs that meet the ordering criteria. Key benefits to students: Technology skillsThe Microsoft Student Innovation Suite contains relevant educational tools. This software package helps students increase their technology skills, which ultimately helps them succeed with schoolwork. World-standard softwareThe Microsoft Student Innovation Suite is compatible with a broad selection of software and hardware. The package delivers access to Microsoft security updates, features, tools, and support that make students PC experience more powerful, reliable, and secure.

Who can qualify?


To qualify for the Microsoft Student Innovation Suite program, governments and NonGovernment Organizations must meet the following criteria: Criteria for Governments or NGOs in Low, Lower-Middle, and Upper-Middle Income Countries (based on the World Bank GNI Index) The PCs must be provided to K-12 students only. At least 50% of the purchase price must be subsidized by the government or NGO. Ownership of the PCs must be transferred to the student for personal use. PCs must be bulk ordered in volumes of at least 10,000 PCs, fulfilled within one year, in a single language. Orders placed beyond the first year also have an annual minimum requirement of 10,000 PCs. Additional criteria for Governments or NGOs in High-Income Countries Governments or NGOs may only distribute MSIS PCs to the bottom 15% most disadvantaged students in the country. A signed Partners in Learning MOU between Microsoft and the government is required for this set of countries.

The Microsoft Student Innovation Suite is offered for US$3.00* to qualifying governments and Non-Government Organizations that meet the ordering criteria. The software provided includes:

Windows 7 Professional A reliable, secure, high-performance Windows operating system with an easy-to-use interface. It's designed for faster and more reliable performance, so your PC just works the way you want it to.

Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 Helps students create great-looking documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and manage class notes.

Microsoft Math Includes a collection of math tools, tutorials, and instructions to help students learn how to solve math problems and gain a better understanding of basic concepts in pre-algebra, algebra, trigonometry, physics, chemistry, and calculus.

Windows LiveA collection of tools providing students with access to e-mail, instant messaging, photo-sharing on the internet, and more. It also enables parents to control access to web sites and specific types of content (Windows Live will be available on a limited basis, based on country restrictions. This applies to the product as a whole, as well as to individual components).

*Note: Cost for Certificate of Authenticity, ordered recovery media, or localization for unsupported languages is not included in the $3.00 cost noted above.
