1. Completion of the Trimester: The current Trimester is coming to a close on the 23rd Feb 2013 as per the Student Handbook and Academic Calendar announced earlier. We will stick to this schedule. Exams will commence about a week ahead; this will be announced shortly by the Exams Dept. In any case the students will be free from the evening of the 23rd Feb 2013. 2. Continuous Evaluation Marks: All academic Activities will come to a close by 7th Feb 2013. Exams would start around 14th Feb. [The exact schedule will be announced separately by Exams Dept]. 2.1. Students are advised to complete all submissions before the 31st Jan so that Faculty is able to evaluate and announce the CE marks in the first week of Feb 2013. 2.2. Continuous Evaluation [CE] marks will be displayed on the Notice Board for a minimum period of 48 hours to facilitate settlement of Errors and Omissions. No requests from students will be entertained after the deadline. 2.3. Wherever Make-up is applicable they should be completed either before 2nd Feb 2013 or within the next one week. The marks of the make-up also should be ready by 9th Feb 2013. The eligibility for make-up is decided by the policy on make-up which is described in the student hand-book. Faculty as well as students are advised to refer to this. 3. Elective Options: 3.1. Faculty Members under the guidance of the Area Chairperson will be holding Guidance seminars to the students to enable them to make the choice of electives. For this purpose slots are being scheduled from next week [9th week; week starting 15th Jan 2013]. Further informal meetings should be encouraged with all faculty members and Mentors to help make the right choice. 3.2. This time we will be giving the Elective Option Forms and collecting the student choices electronically. 3.3. We expect all choices of electives to be completed before the end of the term. This would also help the student choose the Summer Internship appropriately. 4. Summer Internship: 4.1. The period from 25th Feb 2013 to 21st April 2013 shall be the time for Summer Internship. A detailed Guideline on the Summer Internship will be made available to the students and Faculty shortly. Some of the broad features are listed below. 4.2. The objective is to provide corporate exposure to the student. This is expected to give significant advantages to the student in his/her placement.
4.3. Student can use his contacts/resources in finding the internship subject to the organization and the project being approved by SBS. The internship can also be near to the students hometown. Faculty members and Placement team will definitely help the students find internship. 4.4. The mentors shall be the Faculty Guides for the internship. Student may consult the Mentor/Guide in all matters of Internship. 4.5. Internship may or may not be with stipend. 4.6. Internship will be graded and will be of about 6 credits.
