MYQR.

CO Tutorial
Going To MyQR.co In order to being using MyQr.co, a user must open an Internet browser, such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox. These browsers can be located by pressing the button (start button) on the bottom left of your computer. From here, a variety of programs should appear, one being an Internet browser. After opening the browser, click in the URL bar located at the top of the screen. In this bar, type http://MyQr.co. Refer to figure 2.0 to see this step.

Figure 2.0 The URL bar in an Internet Browser After typing in the website address, press Enter on the keyboard or click on the search icon, located on the right side of the URL bar. This will redirect you to the homepage of MrQR.co. Create A MyQR.co Account After you are on homepage, click on the Sign In link located at the top right of the screen. Using this link will allow you to create an account for the website, which will enable you to save and track QR codes that you will create. Refer to figure 3.0 below to see the location of the Sign In link on the homepage.

Figure 3.0 myQR Homepage and Sign In Location This link will bring you to the page where you can sign-in or sign-up for an account. On this page, select Sign Up a Free account today to gain access to these features and more. This will then redirect you to the registration page, where you can create a username and password for your myQR.co account. After entering a username, email, and password, press the Sign Up button. Figure 3.1 shows the registration page for this website.

Sign-In MyQR.co Using Your Account After a successful registration, you will be redirected to a webpage stating, You are all set. The on-screen instructions state how your account is now logged in and you can begin making QR codes and track them. For the purpose of this tutorial, we will logout of the site and login again to demonstrate that your account has been created. To logout, press Logout, located at the top right of the webpage. This will then redirect the user to the websites homepage. To sign in with your account, click on Sign In, located at the top right of the page. After clicking on this link, the sign in page shown below will appear. Enter in your accounts information to login.

My Account Page After you sign in with your account, you will be redirected to your accounts main page. This page is called the dashboard. From the dashboard, you can create and track QR codes. The main tabs for your account are Dashboard, Performance, User Agents, and User Location. The purposes for each tab are described below in figure 5.0. The screenshot of this page is shown on figure 5.1 for your convenience. Creating Your First Website QR Code To create your first QR code, click the Generate link located at the top of the screen. This will bring up the page where you can create a QR code. The options of what kind of QR code you can create are listed in the first row of the webpage. The options include Website, Message, Contact vCard, and Map. The purpose of each QR style are explained in figure 6.0 QR Type Website Message Contact vCard Map Description -Create QR codes for your business's website, Facebook profile, your LinkedIn page, or any other website you can think of. -Create QR codes that have a text message. -Scanning this will show the message to the customer. -myQR will generate a downloadable vCard QR Code. -vCards holds a owners or businesss information (name, address, phone, etc..) -Creates a QR code based on an address or location. -Can be used to locate your business. Figure 6.0 myQR Account Page The first QR code we will create is a website type. To create a website QR code, follow the steps below. Figure 6.1 below shows the page to make a website QR code.

Steps to make a Website QR Code: 1. Click on the website link in the top row 2. Fill out the Website URL address in the first box named Website URL 3. Create a password for your QR code. This means only users with this password can view your QR code. This step is optional. 4. Pick a background color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 5. Choose a foreground color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 6. Click the Generate button to finish making your QR code. Review the information you submitted, this cannot be edited in the future. After clicking on Generate, your QR code will be constructed to the right of the page. Click on this QR code to download it as a .PNG file. Figure 6.2 shows the created QR code. STEP 1 The completed QR code

Creating a Message QR Code To create a message QR code, follow the steps below. Figure 7.0 shows the message QR page on myQR.co. 1. Click Generate at the top of the page, located as the first item in the row. 2. Click on the Message Tab, located as the second item in the row. This row is located about half way on the page. 3. Type in your message under the text area labeled Message. 4. Create a password for your QR code. This means only users with this password can view your QR code. This step is optional. 5. Pick a background color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 6. Choose a foreground color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 7. Click the Generate button to finish making your QR code. Review the information you submitted, this cannot be edited in the future. STEP 1

Creating a Contact vCard To create a Contact vCard QR code, follow the steps below. Figure 8.0 shows the Contact vCard QR page on myQR.co. Steps to make a Contact vCard QR Code: 1. Click Generate at the top of the page, located as the first item in the row. 2. Click on the Contact vCard Tab, located as the second item in the row. This row is located about half way on the page. 3. Type in the information in the boxes below. You may choose to leave boxes blank if you want. The box labeled as Notes is for any additional information you want a customer to know. 4. The last box is labeled Password. This means only users with this password can view your QR code. This step is optional. 5. Pick a background color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 6. Choose a foreground color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 7. Click the Generate button to finish making your QR code. Review the information you submitted, this cannot be edited in the future.

Creating a Map QR Code To create a Map QR code, follow the steps below. Figure 9.0 shows the Map QR page. Steps to make a Map QR Code: 1. Click Generate at the top of the page, located as the first item in the row. 2. Click on the Map Tab, located as the second item in the row. This row is located about half way on the page. 3. Enter in a location or address into the box labeled Address. The map below then will automatically create an image of that location. 4. The last box is labeled Password. This means only users with this password can view your QR code. This step is optional. 5. Pick a background color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 6. Choose a foreground color for your QR code from the choices given. For more colors, click the Switch to Advance Color Picker. Then select the color you want. 7. Click the Generate button to finish making your QR code. Viewing Your Dashboard After creating one or more QR code, your dashboard will populate information about your codes. To view your dashboard, click the My Account link and then the Dashboard tab. Figure 10.0 is a view of the dashboard.

Figure 10.0 A Populated Dashboard By clicking on the QR image, you can download your QR code at any time. The type column shows which QR style the code is; this is either url (website), message, map, or contact. The QR data column is a link to your code. You can click on this link to view what a customer would see if they were to scan that code. The total views columns simply show the number of view your QR code has. The history column shows a mini line graph that shows how many people are viewing your code by day. The Hide column allows a user to make this QR code disappear from the dashboard. Users can bring back this code by clicking the check box Show hidden and then clicking the Refresh button. This is located below all of your QR codes.

The report column allows a user to create a detailed report based on the codes they select. You can view this report by clicking on the other tabs such as Performance, User Agents, or User Location. If no codes are selected for the report, all of them will be included in the report as a default. This is explained in further detail below. Tracking Capabilities of MYQR.CO MyQR.co provides three main tracking functions for your QR codes. The first function is Performance. Performance describes the number of views/scans a QR code has. This can be further organized by date, day of week, and month. Information in this report is in the form of a line graph. To view the performance of your QR codes, follow the steps below. Figure 11.0 shows the performance report. View QR Code Performance 1. Click My Accounts on the top of the page; this is the second item listed. 2. Click on the Performance tab from the row that is located about half way on the screen. This is the second item listed. 3. As a default, Day is selected for chart period. However, this can be changed by simply clicking on the other options, the chart below will automatically update. If a user does not specify which QR codes are added to the report, all of them will be added. This is the aggregated view ad seen in figure 11.0.

To add specific codes to this chart, go back to your dashboard and select Add under the report column. Once one or more QR codes are added, a new performance view is shown, as seen in figure 11.1. The names of the QR codes are unique and are given random names, such as 2aqH. To view what code refers to what name, click on the name in the legend provided below the graph.

Another tracking function of myQR.co includes User Agents. User agents are the devices and browsers used that scanned a QR code. For example, if a user clicks on a QR code from a website, it will be tracked as a Windows agent. If a user scanned a QR code from their Android tablet, the user agent would be Android. Information for user agents is represented in the form of a pie chart. To access your user agent report follow the steps below: View QR Code User Agents 1. Click My Accounts on the top of the page; this is the second item listed. 2. Click on the User Agents tab from the row that is located about half way on the screen. This is the third item listed. 3. As a default, Day is selected for chart period. However, this can be changed by clicking on the other options, the chart below will automatically update. If a user does not specify which QR codes are added to the report, all of them will be added.

A final tracking function that myQr.co provides is user location. User location views the number of scans sorted by country. This data is presented as a bar graph. Refer to the steps below and figure 13.0 to learn how to view a user location report. View QR Code User Agents 1. Click My Accounts on the top of the page; this is the second item listed. 2. Click on the User Location tab from the row that is located about half way on the screen. This is the fourth item listed. 3. As a default, Day is selected for chart period. However, this can be changed by clicking on the other options, the chart below will automatically update. If a user does not specify which QR codes are added to the report, all of them will be added.
