What is it? The Single Map Template presents a multi-faceted view of a specific indicator allowing the users to explore and understand patterns and trends from several different perspectives. It is ideal for presenting a logically grouped set of indicators that are, in some way, geographically distributed. This may be a set of schools or hospitals or it may alternatively be a set of areas such as administrative or political territories. It may even be a set of line segments such as traffic flows linked to sections of roads. What does it do? It is being used for a wide range of purposes with customers often referring to it as a classic atlas view. The Designer tool offers a great deal of flexibility to customise the view to meet your specific requirements. This may depend on factors such as the type and number of indicators you are presenting, the number and extent of geographic features, and the capabilities and objectives of your target audience. InstantAtlas publishers often apply this template to situations where they need a visual exploratory analysis tool that is highly intuitive to use and allows end-users to get an understanding of a defined set of indicators from both a spatial and temporal perspective.
