Dont Waste Your Instruction

Be careful about the way you live and about what you teach. (1Timothy 4:16 CEV) Sabi ni Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa 1994-1999, Education is the

most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.

An Effective Learning Situation Consists of Following Five Essential Elements:1 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. An effective Instructor or Leader. Learners who want and need to learn. Content or subject matter that is useful to learners. Appropriate teaching equipments and material. An appropriate physical environment

1. Teacher 2. Method and Environment 3. Learner So I think para ma-maximize natin ang sandata ng education at hindi natin masayang mayroon akong ilang mga considerations.

Basic Observations from the Classroom

Teaching is not only impartation of knowledge but even of your character lalo na in the context of Christian education in the environment of a Christian school. a. Integrated Christian Education and Character Building ACEs educational principle. And so kung ang pagtuturo ay tungkol rin sa Character-Building a teacher then must be a model of balance character.

b. Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil. (C.S. Lewis, author of the book Narnia) d. The first priority of my life is to be holy, and the second goal of my life is to be a scholar. (John Wesley, Methodist preacher of the 17th century) e. Every man naturally desires knowledge; but what good is knowledge without fear of God? Indeed a humble rustic (tagabarrio) who serves God is better than a proud intellectual who neglects his soul to study the course of the stars. (Thomas a Kempis, scribe and author of the classic f. Ugali not in a sense of perfection but inspiration.

Christian devotion, The Imitation of Christ)

2. Mastery of the subject/field one teaches2 ay isang form ng pagmamalasakit sa iyong mga estudyante. Ikaw yung teacher na hindi kulong sa book but youre researching and looking for creative ways to impart solid, updated, and practical knowledge. Kumbaga sa isang Pastor, kapag tumatayo ka sa pulpit yung sermon mo ay hindi recycled, o mula sa Baul, kundi laging bunga ng fresh study, insights, and application. a. Love your students by giving them sufficient relevant data. (This is the weakness of ACE on the side of teachers). Remember this: Ang isang guro ay isang laging mabuting pag-aaral. b. Here, then, is the real problem of our negligence. We fail in our duty to study God's Word not so much because it is difficult to understand, not so much because it is dull and boring, but because it is work. Our problem is not a lack of intelligence or a lack of passion. Our problem is that we are lazy. (R. C. Sproul, Reformed Theologian)

pag-alalay.

4. Understanding of the learner.3 Meaning, ito yung consideration ng teacher tungkol sa human growth and development ng isang estudyante, gaya ng levels of maturity, learning capability, interests, weakness, adjustments, and experiences ng iyong student. a. At since tao, complikado, daig pa ang anumang updated operating system ngayon. Para sa akin, ang Lesson Plan at ang estudyante ay may dynamic close-connection, dapat laging balance ang dalawa. b. an effective teacher must not be overly possessive or need complete control of the children and environment. It is important to allow students both responsibility and freedom within the classroom community. Comments were also shared that both the teachers and students need to contribute to the learning environment for a relationship of closeness and acceptance to develop.4 c. Most great learning happens in groups. Collaboration is the stuff of growth. (Sir Ken Robinson Ph.D., Education and creativity expert) d. Spoon feeding, in the long run teaches us nothing but the shape of the spoon. (E.M. Forster, English novelist) e. If the child can't learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn. (Igancio Estrada) f. Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and Ill understand. (Chinese proverb) g. "The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires." (William Arthur Ward,

Americas inspirational writer)

5. Legacy: Para sa akin ito ang gasoline to motivate your passion and your calling. Ito yung spiritual reproduction. Yung pagproduce ng mga katulad mo or higit pa saiyo in passion and mission. Sa context ng Christian Education, para sa akin, ang akayin ang isang estudyante patungo sa tamang pagkilala sa Dios in the light of Creation (natural revelation) and in the light of the Gospel ay napakagandang motibasyon. For me to hear sa labi ng isang estudyante, Kuya,

Sabi sa ACE mission, One child at a time. a. So para hindi boring ang buhay mo bilang isang guro: Envision your classroom as a mission field.
Conclusion YOU'VE MADE A DIFFERENCE (Copyrighted by Linda J. Stevenson) Thank you for the time you give To each child who looks to you; You truly make a difference By all you say and do. For as you touch each tender heart, You leave your imprint there; And always they'll remember you-How much you really cared. Keep on loving, keep on caring, Sharing Christ as you do, For one day they'll return to say, Teacher, I do thank you. You've made a difference in my life. I'm who I am today, Because you gave your time to teach And show to me Gods Way.
