How does a 200W induction lighting system replace a 400W metal halide lighting system and provide significantly better performance and lighting? The answer: lies in what's pupil lumen:
The effect of lighting on people's vision and psychological well-being has been a subject of much study and discus sion for years. Describing light in terms of "lumen output" and measuring it by "foot candles" on a work plane has been the traditional ways of defining how much light isrequired to perform a variety of tasks. However, recent studies havehave re-examined these methods. The "color rendering index" (CRI) and correlated color temperature (CCT) describe the quality of the light (relating to how true colors appear compared to under a noon north sky on a clear day). As lighting technology evolves into vari ous types and colors, simply measuring the lumens provides an inadequate basis for predicting how well people can see. In bright lighting, our pupils contract, allowing more detail to be perceived, while depth of field and perceived brightness also increases. In low light, our eyes dilate to allow in more light. Sam Berman, formerly with the Lighting Systems Research Group at Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and a major supporter of the importance of the P/S ratio in lighting selection, developed a conversion factor that applies the P/S ratio to lumen output of various light sources. The ratio expresses the effective lumens the eye will perceive for vision based on the size of the pupil and the effect on vision (see Table 1 below). Some lighting, such as a low-pressure sodium lamp, loses most of its output using this method. A high-quality Induction lamp, on the other hand, maintains its output throughout nearly its entire lifetime.

Induction Lamps Induction lamps can replace most conventional light sources in functional lighting fields. The potential market size is substantial. In addition, incandescent lamps will be phased out in many countries over the next few years, so there will be a high need for energy-saving light sources. With the development of large-scale production, Induction lamps cost will be significantly reduced. Induction lamps can reduce up to 50% less energy consumption than LED, because Induction lamp efficacy is 30% higher than LED, while the lumen depreciation rate is lower. Can be used for industrial, commercial, road, tunnel, bridge, garden and park, agricultural, and advertising lighting. Induction Lamps can be widely applied for diversified functional lighting applications. They are easily and quickly commercialized around the world.
