Process information by: b. extracting main ideas and supporting details; B. Processing texts read by: vi. Identifying main ideas in simple texts. x. Identifying cause and effect in simple texts. Learning Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: (a) decide on a gift for their classmates if they been admitted into hospital. (b) identify at least 2 out of 4 cause and effect referring from the text given individually. (c) list at least 3 out of 5 moral values based on the text given in groups of 4. Educational Emphasis: (a) Thinking skills - Students are asked to think about the items they might bring when are visited their friends in hospital.
(b) Multiple intelligence (Interpersonal) - Students are taught to share information with other students. Moral Values: Students are taught on the value of being sympathy and empathy towards other people. Resource Materials : worksheets, box, whiteboard Vocabulary list : Empathy Visit Orphan Poor TEACHERS/STUDENTS ACTIVITIES 1. Teacher begins the lesson by listing down some of the good deeds that people can do. 2. Teacher discusses with the students on what they can do to help people around. 3. Students respond by giving some ideas on how to help other people.

1. Teacher writes a word Empathy and asks the students on their understanding of empathy. 2. Teacher explains on the topic empathy to the students. 3. Teacher distributes a reading text to the students. 4. Students read the reading text silently in 5 minutes. 5. Teacher asks the students to read aloud the text. 6. Teacher checks on students pronunciation and vocabulary.

A few students are randomly called by the teacher to read aloud their answers. 6. Teacher corrects the students should there be any mistakes.

1. Teacher asks the students to get in a group of four. 2. Teacher then, instructs the students to list at least 4 main points and reason to support their answer on why they should be empathy for other people. 3. Teacher asks the students to complete their task within 15 minutes. 4. Teacher asks them to present in front of the class. 1. Teacher summarizes the entire lesson. 2. Teacher poses some questions on Exercising Empathy to check students understanding.
