Clearing Script Errors in Windchill 10

Some users of the new Windchill V10 system are seeing issues with Java scripts. Please follow the steps below to resolve those issues.

JAVA
Windchill 10 requires a minimum Java build (1.6.0_22 or above). All Windows 7 clients need to be running the 64-bit version of Java. If you are running Windows 7, please install Java from the P: drive location specified below or Copy and paste this command in to Start -> Run P:\mcad\Sys_Updates\JAVA\jre-6u31-windows-x64.exe NOTE: un-install Java 1.7.0 if you have it installed EXTERNAL USERS: please visit the Java website to download the 64-bit Java install http://www.java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml

Clearing Internet Explorer and Java Cache


All users should clear their Internet Explorer and Java Cache after the Windchill 10 upgrade.

1) How to clear IE Cache:


In Internet Explorer go to Tools -> Options and select Delete under Browser History

Make sure all items are checked EXCEPT for the top item and select OK BE SURE Preserve Favorites website data IS NOT CHECKED.

Select Delete to complete action.

2) To clear the java cache:


First, make sure all browser windows are closed (IE - Standalone and ProE Embedded, Firefox etc). Go to Control Panel> Java Select Settings from Temporary Internet Files section of Java Control Panel General Tab

Select Delete Files

Make sure both boxes are checked and Select OK

Select OK to finish
