June will end in a big way at First Baptist Church. June 19, will be our quarterly church conference.
This is one week earlier than normal. The conference has been moved forward to accommodate Vacation Bible School the last week of the month. The decisions of the church are made in church conference. Your presence and input is needed and welcomed. I will look forward to seeing you then. The last week of June, the 24th through 28th will be Vacation Bible School. This year, VBS will be held in the evening and there will even be classes for adults. With that in mind I encourage those who will be bringing their children to VBS to stay and attend the adult sessions. What a great opportunity for the whole family to experience VBS together. What an exciting time this will be! I am looking forward to JULY 7, and THE SILENT LORDS SUPPER SERVICE. If you have not been a part of this moving service, then you wont want to miss it. MIGRANT MINISTRY Thanks to those of you from First Baptist Church who aided in the Migrant Ministry Project again this year. The work began with FBC leaders hosting the Emory team along with local Migrant Services and translators with a luncheon in our Fellowship Hall. Many Sunday School classes and individuals collected bibles, personal hygiene items and a ton of clothing to share with the migrant workers. They and their families travel around the country harvesting the crops our farmers plant. Without their hard work, it would be very difficult to get many of our fruits and vegetables to markets. A word of gratitude to each of the hard working FBC members who traveled to the farm sites, clinics and apartments to share the love of Jesus with these guest workers. Many of our ministry team worked from sunup to after 11PM to accomplish this vital ministry. I was especially proud of David and Kayla, my son and daughter-in-law who were part of a team of physicians and students from Emory Medical School, providing care in the farm labor camps of our area. HAITI MISSION EVENT If you missed the Haiti Mission report, a video is available for you to borrow or purchase. Please remember those from Bainbridge who served the Lord loving the people of Haiti. We'll spend one day at White Water Atlanta and one at Six Flags over Georgia. But be sure to bring your Bibles because we'll delve into God's word as we prepare to face the big challenges ahead! Haiti Mission Event- I am so PROUD of all the adults and students who went to Haiti. You sacrificed your time, money, and gifts to help Gods people. The trip was wonderful and everyone did a great job on Sunday night for the Haiti Mission Report. I am blessed to have served by such committed people. Merge- We are leaving @ 3:30 a.m. on Monday morning for Merge Mission Camp. We will be doing inner city missions in the morning and Camp Rec. in the evenings. We will get the best of both worlds. Please pray for our safety and for God to speak to us through all we do! Merge 2 days away! CHAOS- begins in 18 days! Summer Insanity begins in 27 Days!
