The three ALL-NEW EcoTec3 SIERRA ENGINES feature the latest engine technologies from GMC that deliver power when its needed and optimal efficiency at cruising speeds. 1. DIRECT INJECTION (DI) delivers fuel more precisely into the combustion chamber for a higher compression ratio that means more torque, better overall power and improved fuel efficiency. 2. ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT (AFM) improves fuel economy by deactivating cylinders under certain low-demand driving situations, reducing the engines work and translating into real-world fuel economy improvements. 3. VARIABLE VALVE TIMING (VVT) helps optimize the camshaft timing to provide improved low-rpm torque and high-rpm horsepower.
