Symbian 5800 Flashing

A custom firmware (CFW) is a modified version of a mobile operating system that can increase performance, add features, or customize the interface. The tutorial provides safe instructions to install a CFW using a computer and USB cable. It is recommended to back up data and reset the phone before installation. The steps involve downloading a CFW, using JAF emulator software to select the CFW file and flash it to the phone by putting it in recovery mode when connected by USB cable. WHAT IS A MODIFIED FIRMWARE = CFW?

The CFWs are modified versions of our mobile operating system, created to increase performance, add features, customize the interface or remove unnecessary things. These versions are installed using the computer through the following tutorial which is completely safe if you follow it to the letter.

IF I DO NOT LIKE IT,CAN I GET BACK TO THE ORIGINAL FIRMWARE? The answer is YES, you can return to the original, but better yet we offer the only firmwares: Nokia Classic Edition Firmware which are original in their latest versions but let you install anything you want without signing and now! no weird stuff, no customizations or, everything exactly as the original.

INSTALLATION GUIDE RECOMMENDATIONS: It is very convenient format your phone (hardreset = * # 7370 #) and your SD memory card before performing this procedure as this will eliminate any trace of the previous configuration and avoid any future errors. MATERIALS NEEDED A Custom Firmware (CFW): here we leave some by Symbian Latino CFW Your USB cable and a PC with Windows (we recommend using rear USB ports) JAF EMULATOR Program Download Here INSTRUCTIONS Download the CFW you like in its latest version, check that is not based on a lower firmware version you have to dial * # 0000 #, as that would make Downgrade and your phone will not work. JAF install the program, during a message appears asking if you want to install the cable driver to give NO. If you do not have installed the Nokia Suite 3 software that comes with the phone then give YES. Now select the CFW downloaded and extracted it in your PC. When you unzip our CFW get a folder calledRM-RM XXX by your team. What you should do is take this folder and place it in

the following path in your PC C: \ Program Files \ Nokia \ Phoenix \ Products \ If those folders do not exist, you must create the end for your files are located as in the picture. (RM-428 The picture is an example, as in your case should be the one you downloaded CFW RM)

Run the file JAF_PKEY_Emulator_v5.exe coming in JAF installation package and open a window when we click on GO. If you have your computer running Windows 7 must first right click on the. Exe and select properties executable compatibility mode with Windows Vista or XP SP2. So the JAF will work perfectly in Windows 7. When you give GO will fail without informing importance that we have the Box driver for just OKand we give. In the window that appears select BB5 tab and uncheck the options Normal Mode and CRT 308. Then we mark the options: Manual Flash Dead USB and finally the Use INI.Selecting this

last you will see a box where you select the model of your computer and its corresponding RM.

WHAT IF MY MOBILE DOES NOT APPEAR IN THE LIST OF JAF? The JAF program supports most mobile but if yours does not appear to just go to this path: C: \ program files \ odeon \ jaf and being in that folder you should find the file jaf_nok4models.ini open with Notepad, then low until the end of the file and add the model of your computer and save. (Obviously you have the JAF closed because otherwise you can not save) Example: [RM-551] Description = Nokia X6 [RM-504] Description = Nokia 5530

If you did everything right you should have the program set to the image in the box ay STATUS AND RESULTS you must exit the list of found files to flash indicating the route we did in Step 2:

In the box You select NORMAL MODE PHONE and wait a few seconds.

Now having our phone off connect it to PC and we click on the FLASH button. Barely press Flash the program displays a warning message not to downgrade, we click on YES.Then a message appears in the Status window requesting you turn on your phone, just press the power button for 1 second and begin flashing, if it does not detect your phone, just to repeat this step.WHAT IF THE JAF does not detect my phone? This is because you have never connected your phone to the computer in PC Suite mode, please install the Nokia Suite 3 or PC Suite and connect your phone on once. This way the computer will add the necessary drivers and recognize your phone. Then you can repeat this tutorial and you will detect safely. Thats all, at the end you will have a message DONE! in the Status window and your cel will display a message to NOKIA LOCAL MODE, so you just replace the box in PHONE MODE NORMAL option as in step 7 and now you have your phone with a custom firmware. As a recommendation after your phone must first turn off and on again for some applications to finish installing and be 100% fully functional.
