Features & Advantages

Nitrifying bacteria boosts natural bacteria levels in your pond (Spring/Summer) Fast acting live bacterial culture, boosts the waters natural nitrifying bacteria. Digests harmful ammonia converting it to nitrite then harmless nitrate. Digests excess nutrients that would otherwise cause poor water quality and clarity. Seeds new biological filtration systems. Ideal to boost natural bacteria at start of season. Helps maintain a balanced water eco system free from algae and blanket weed. Reduces fish lethal ammonia levels. Breaks down and recovers organic material (accelerates the natural process). Can be added direct to filter or to pond. Produces maximum results but still safe for fish and plants. Out-competes algae for nutrients required for growth. Effective in both salt and fresh water.

The Problem
The Growth of Nitrifying Bacteria You cant rely on the development of nitrifying bacteria during the winter. These useful pond bacteria need warm temperature to survive and grow. So during the cold season, they die back and do not come back again until it gets warmer. Typically, they grow back in spring, when the water temperature reaches about 12C. However, with very unpredictable weather, with low temperatures sometimes continuing until June, many pond owners or keepers experience water quality problems due to the shortage of nitrifying bacteria. This poses a serious threat to fish. Bacteria Converts Ammonia to Nitrite to Nitrate There are two types of nitrifying bacteria. One type of nitrifying bacteria converts ammonia to nitrite and the other type converts nitrite to nitrate. Nitrite is still very harmful to fish. It causes the blood of the fish to turn brown, slowly suffocating the fish to death from lack of oxygen. Thus, having the two types of nitrifying bacteria is very important to convert lethal ammonia and deadly nitrite to less harmful nitrate. Are Nitrates Safe? Your aquatic plants love nitrate and use this substance as their main food supply. If the concentration of nitrates in the water becomes excessive, however, this could lead to other problems altogether. Nitrates are far less toxic to fish than ammonia and nitrite. However, in big concentrations, nitrates can have harmful effects to your fish after long-term exposure. Some of these effects are stagnated growth, poor health, chronic stress, clamped fins and reluctance to breed. Another set back from high nitrate levels is an outbreak of unwanted algae. Like aquatic plants, algae thrive where there is a good supply of nutrients in the form of nitrates. Nitrate Eating Bacteria Natural Algae Control Again, nitrate levels and natural algae control rely on another type of pond bacteria. Just as there are specific pond bacteria devoted to breaking down ammonia to nitrite and another designated type to convert nitrite to nitrate, there are also specialised pond bacteria for this specific niche of breaking down nitrate. These nitrate eating bacteria are important in avoiding problems arising from excessive nitrate problems, including algae growth. Other Problems Caused By Lack of Good Pond Bacteria Aside from the threat to fish and aquatic life and the widespread growth of unsightly and potentially harmful algae, not having enough useful pond bacteria can cause other problems including: Bottom sludge accumulation Bad odour from build-up of slowly decomposing organic waste Disgustingly cloudy water Dissolved oxygen depletion due to break down of excessive quantities of decaying organic matter also deadly to fish and aquatic life Increased water acidity intolerable for fish and other useful bacteria

Description
Biological treatment to boost the natural bacteria levels in your pond or lake will re-balance the water preventing growth of algae due to excessive nutrient levels. Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost is a natural blend of bacteria that boosts the levels of nitrifying bacteria in your pond. Bacteria naturally depletes during the cold autumn/winter months so when the temperature starts to warm up, it is a good idea to give your pond a bacteria boost, to stop algae formation due to excess nutrients in the water. It is used in large Koi and gold fish ponds, zoo ponds and boundary water courses, leisure fishing lakes and ponds that have become ecologically unbalanced, intensive aquaculture operations like fish farms, angling clubs etc., commercial fish farms and live stock holding tanks. Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost is packed with billions of bacteria. The bacterial strains in Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost have also been carefully picked for their effectiveness in digesting specific substances, ability to withstand wider ranges of temperature and pH levels and their ability to double in numbers within a short span of 20 minutes. As a result, you get guaranteed Fast action Protection from virtually any type of common water pollutants Long-lasting effectiveness Efficiency in both salt and fresh water Total Nitrifying Action The powerful nitrifying bacteria present in Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost take out BOTH deadly ammonia and nitrites from the water making water conditions healthy for the fish. Clear Water without Bad Odour Too much pollutants and organic matter deposits cause unappealingly cloudy and unpleasant smelling water. Aside from nitrifying bacteria, Aside from nitrifying bacteria, Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost also contains special bacteria that accelerates the break down of organic matter and pollutants present in the pond, producing clear waters and eliminating odour problems. Natural Algae Control Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost, with its high concentration of beneficial pond bacteria of 10 billion cfu/gram resolves poor water quality problems very quickly. Thats why it makes an excellent natural algae control treatment. With that load of bacteria devouring the excess nutrients in the water, algae dont stand a chance to grow and survive.

Before Treatment with Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost

After Treatment with Bio Aquatic Bacteria Boost

There are numerous types of bacteria required to carry out special tasks of eating up specific types of substances, pollutants or matter in the pond. Given some time, most of these types of bacteria, will naturally appear on their own in your pond. The problem is, most of the time, their strength and numbers are not enough to cope up with the job. In many cases, time alone does not give your pond sufficient line of defence to get the natural healthy processes going. And when and where there is a shortage of useful pond bacteria, your pond becomes an easy prey to a whole gamut of consequences, too unpleasant to ignore. This is why reinforcing your pond with doses of useful pond bacteria proves to be essential in maintaining the waters natural balance and is key to natural algae control.

How To Use
For Ponds: Use at 20gm per 1,000 litres add to the biological chamber of the filter box. Alternatively, you can mix the recommended amount of powder into 5-10 litres of pond water in a bucket, leave for 20 minutes to activate the bacteria, then pour the solution directly to the waters surface or through a feeder stream. For Lakes and Bigger Bodies of Water: Use 1 kilo per acre each month, depending on the water quality and phytoplankton bloom. A higher dosage produces faster results.
