ABOUT RESOURSE PERSON :

Dr. Sajal K. Das is a University Distinguished Scholar, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering and the Founding Director of CReWMaN at the University of Texas at Arlington, USA. During 2008-2011, he was a Program Director at the US National Science Foundation in the Computer Networks and Systems Division. In 2012 he was selected as the E.T.S. Walton Fellow by Science Foundation of Ireland. He has been a Visiting Professor at IIT-Kanpur, Honorary Professor of Fudan University in Shanghai and International Advisory Professor of Beijing Jiaotong University, China, and Visiting Scientist at the Institute of Infocomm Research, Singapore. Dr. Das is frequently invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences and symposium. His broad research interests include wireless and sensor networks, mobile and pervasive computing, cloud computing, smart environments and cyber-physical systems, smart grids and sustainability, security and privacy, biological and social networks, applied graph theory and game theory. He has contributed significantly to these areas, published over 500 papers and 47 book chapters. He holds 5 patents in wireless networks and mobile Internet, and coauthored three books. Dr. Das is a recipient of the IEEE Computer Societys Technical Achievement Award for pioneering contributions to sensor networks and mobile computing, IEEE Region-5 Outstanding Engineering Educator Award, and eight Best Paper Awards.

The Information Technology revolution and the Liberalization economies around the world have led to globalization of the human resource pool for technology. In this scenario engineering education needs to pay more attention to the development of innovation ,entrepreneurship and the ability of its graduates to function in a constantly changing global environment. American Society for engineering Education (ASEE), along with academic and business leaders from leading US and Indian universities have launched IUCEE, and initiative to build US-India collaborations, in order to make engineering education and research more relevant to the needs of the global society and to the aptitudes and aspirations of new generations of youth.

ABOUT COLLEGE
Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) is established in 1998 in the picturesque and pleasant environs of Madanapalle and is ideally located on sprawling 30 acre campus on Madanapalle - Anantapur Highway (NH205) near Angallu about 10 kms from Madanapalle. ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established in the year 1998. It offers B.Tech program in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an intake of 180 students. It also offers two M.Tech programs- Digital Electronics and Communication Systems with an intake of 36 and Micro & Nano Electronics with an intake of 18. A team of highly qualified senior faculty runs it with specializations in Communication Systems, Microwave Engineering, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Image Processing, VLSI and Embedded Systems. The main objective of the department, right from its inception, is to train and develop high quality man power, as well as technical inputs primarily to meet the requirements of Indian Industries and R & D establishments both in India and Abroad. The department is adopting its curriculum, laboratories to stay abreast of Electronics and related areas. The department is regularly conducting the seminars, guest lectures, workshops and technical symposiums on latest technologies. Apart from the curriculum the department is having project development center to impart the real and practical technical skills to the students. The department has been in forefront for research and training activities in Digital Signal & Image Processing, Embedded and VLSI systems . LOCATION: Madanapalle Institute of Technology and Science (MITS) is located at Angallu, which is 10 Kms away from Madanapalle.
