The ideal manager

Erdei Attila

In this essay I will talk about what you, or somebody else need to be a good or even the idealmanager.

The word management comes from the latin maneo, from this word it reached the French term maison(house). Than from the Latin noun from maneo (hand) was formed in Italian the word maneggio(made by hand). From french and Italian, these words have acquired in English, the verb form to manage. Then the english people formed the words manager and management.

Now I will define the terms manager and management (to manage). Management means to plan, to command, to coordinate, to control and first of all to organize.(H. Fayol 1916). Also Koontz and Odonnel sad in 1976 that these five are the essential managerial functions. Manager is a person who leads a team of people, being responsible for financial and organizational problems.

If a manager wants to became the ideal manager s\he must: a) sets goals with the team in mind, because everything you do as a manager, you firstly think at the team because the teamwork is very important. A manager must have a good work relationship with the team members because if they dont like each other the team will suffer.

b) chooses the best style to adopt in the right situation. When a team takes a challenge the manager became a coach for them, and they must listen to what s\he says because they know what is best for the team (or at least should know). When a team member need to be motivated to work better the manager should know what to do. For example if the team is new the manager can organize a trip somewhere, where the team can make some challenges between them. c) must create a good environment for his team to motivate them They know it is impossible to motivate another person if that person chooses not to be motivated, but if a member of the team is dispointed about something the manager must talk with that person and find solutions to make it happy, because that can influence the rest of the team.

d) knows the best way to communicate with their team members


Its important how the manager talk with the members of his team, to be a good atmosphere between them, this is a very important in a team because if is a good atmosphere they can styck to the plan and everythink is allright, otherwise they dont fulfill their obligations and in the worst

case the team can fall apart.

e) knows specifically how to reward and recognise every team members contribution to the team effort The team members should be rewarded by the manager based by the effort they made to achieve something they plan. If the manager see that you work, you will be rewarded, if you dont work do not expect to be rewarded.

There are a lot of qualities that a manager must have and I thing honesty is one of them. Managers should never forget that in front of his subordinates the deeds weighs more than words. Also a good manager need to keep their word, because if you set rules and deadlines, you should be the first to respect them. Also a manger must be enthusiastic in what s\he do, because nobody wants to work with a pessimistic man.

Now I will talk about one of the best managers in the world in my opinion, its about Donald Trump.
Trump began his manager career at his father's company, the Trump Organization, and initially he concentrated on his father's business which was to rental houses in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. While he was still in college, one of his first projects was to recondition the Swifton Village apartment complex in Cincinnati, Ohio which was purchased for 5.7 million dollars in 1962 by his father. After that Trump became very involved in the project and flew personally to see how the works going and carry out other low-level tasks. His fathers investmnets was about 500.000 $, after this Trump succesfully turned a 1200-unit complex with a 66% vacancy rate to 100% occupated in less than 2 years. The Trump Organization sold Swifton Village for $6.75 million in 1972, and they make a 550.000 $ profit.

The financial crisis caught Mr. Trump in the year 2008, and the sales for his Trump International Hotel and Tower in Chicago fell. Lender Deutsche Bank not agree that mr. Trump lowerd the prices to spur the sales. After that Donald Trump said that the crisis circumstances is beyond his control and he proposed a clause in the contract to not pay back the loan.

Around the world are many succesfull managers and bussines mans, some of them are: 1. Steve Jobs He is the chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Apple. His career spans 30 years as the Apple Inc. founder. Some of his creations are the iPod and iPhone. 2. Eric Schmidt, Larry Page and Sergei Brin Eric Schmidt and Sergei Brin are co founders of Google, the worlds largest search engine. 3. Bill Gates Founder, Chairman- Microsoft Inc; Founder and Co-Chair- Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation There is no doubt that Bill Gates did revolutionize the software industry when he came into the market in the 80s.

In conclusion, if somebody wants to became an ideal manager it has to work a lot for this because in our days not many people want to help you, i dont know why maybe their are affred that you will become better than them.
