Title of the Project: Project Management in Telecommunication Field. 1. Introduction:

Most major Telecommunications companies now need to provide global networks and services to meet the needs of their largest customers, who are also global. The largest customers may spend eight or even nine-figure dollar sums annually with their strategic communications providers. Additionally, there is always a plethora of business improvement projects with ever more rapid cycle times. Customers demand constantly improving service quality, and technology projects are under continuing pressure to get them done right the first time. Large numbers of workers have to be routinely allocated to new projects. In one large telecommunication enterprise, most IT workers are allocated to projects for renewable 90-day time slots, and similar to a consulting firm, they are on the bench when they are not working on a project. This means they have little time to become effective in the new project. The telecommunication company needs to instate best practices that will not be sacrificed as people move rapidly and collaborate globally, often from remote locations. Telecom projects, like any other project, need special attention if you want the project to be successful and done on a schedule. One way to proceed on a telecom project is to hire a telecom management professional to oversee the project. Another way is to use a project management software program. There are many software programs available that cover the many facets of project planning including document management, workforce management, time/expense management, client collaboration, custom forms, knowledge management, and certified email. Either way, due to the complexity of some telecom projects, it is vital to your success to use one of these options. Since telecom projects can involve things like site selection, surveys, permitting, and a host of other things that have to be done in a certain order, project management is vital to a successful telecom project. If you are winging it, it is likely that your work will be less than desirable and you may end up with a bungled project and an unhappy customer or even worse - an unhappy boss. The process used to accomplish Management and Control is based on the industry telecom best practices for project management. This process is utilized to generate consistently successful, high quality projects that achieve their goals in a timely manner. Prior to the commencement of the project, OSS works with the Client to define their goals, objectives, available information, time frames, project scope, anticipated depth of analysis, deliverables, and individual project unique information. What exactly is project management? It is the managing of skills and resources to accomplish a goal. There are project management principles that can be put in place, like a template, and worked through manually or you can opt for some great software that will guide you step by step through the process. The most important thing in managing a project is that everything needs to be in writing and available to everyone on the team and all that information needs to be updated constantly as events happen.

2. Objective of the study:

Let's take a look at what we are trying to accomplish with project management. First, we want to make sure that we know exactly what we and our workers are doing. Who are the customers and what do they need? What do they want and most importantly what do they expect? As a company with integrity that wants a long and prosperous future, we want to make sure that everyone is clear on these points. Getting a written agreement stating exactly what our customer wants and what we will provide would be a prudent move. 1. To explore the application of project management in the Telecom field. 2. To identify critical elements affecting project management in Telecom field. 3. To suggest remedial measures for effective project management and analyze role of a proper project management for the effective utilizes of resources Telecom field.

3. Description of study methodology:

Study methodology describes the methods and process applied in the entire research. It is the set of various instrumental approaches used in achieving predetermined objectives. It counts on the resource and techniques available and to the extent of their reliability and validity in the research. The methodology adopted follows some limited but crucial steps aimed to achieve the objectives of the study. The study examines the fact and postulates in certain frameworks or details and supplies the important information on subject matter. Major findings results, recommendation conclusions etc. are the most significant information among them. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. We focus on project management in telecommunications. Successful management of a project would lead to resource optimization and better execution. As one definition goes, project management deals with systematic planning and organizing

to accomplish a specific, usually, a one-time effort. Specifically, project management seeks to: Define project scope: goals and objectives Identify and specify tasks/sub-tasks Estimate resource requirements Identify and allocate resources Prepare and execute a project plan Manage critical paths on the project plan Ensure project completion on time and under budget

4. Limitations: This research covers the conflict and lack of project managers
knowledge comes around the completion of the project
