Introduction
This document provides setup and activation information for the Control4 Mobile Navigator License and will guide you through the process of setting up a Control4 account, activating a Mobile Navigator License, and enabling the license on the Control4 system. The license lets you authenticate third-party mobile devices to a Control4 system. The document will show you how to: Register the Controller Activate the Mobile Navigator license Synchronize subscriptions on the Controller Add the mobile devices driver to the Composer project

Make sure the Control4 system is updated to version 1.7.0 or later. On the local computer, use a Web browser to go to my.control4.com and log in using your account. If you havent yet created an account, click create account to create the account. For future reference, record your account name, email address and password for your my.control4. com account: Account: ________________________________ Email: ________________________________ Password: ________________________________
System Requirements
The Mobile Navigator License requires system software version 1.7.0 or later for use with an Apple iPhone or iPod touch, or system software version 1.7.4 or later for use with an Apple iPad. Control4 systems with earlier software releases need to be updated prior to using third- party mobile devices.

Log in to your account on my.control4.com. From the My Account tab, choose account administration.
Start Composer and connect to a Director. On the menu bar, select Tools > Account Services, enter the 10-digit code in the registration box, and click Register.
Enter the license code you received when you purchased the Mobile Navigator License into the Subscription Code box. Subscription codes must be entered exactly as printed. Subscription codes only contain number 0-9 and letters A-F.
Select Activate. The subscription code appears in the Account Subscriptions area with an activation date.
When the Status: indicator changes to Check in successful, the subscription information has been synchronized and the mobile devices can be authenticated.

Start Composer and connect to a Director. In System Design, click the driver Search tab on the top right of the page to search for the appropriate driver. In this driver list, you will find the following drivers as indicated in the screen below: Control4 iPad Navigator. Use with the Apple iPad. Control4 iPhone Navigator. Use with the Apple iPhone and iPod touch.

Start Composer and connect to a Director. From the menu bar, select Tools > Account Services.
Note: You must install the Control4 Driver Patch for Apple iPad before you can see the iPad driver in Composer and before you can identify the iPad to the Control4 system.
After successfully identifying your device in Composer, you can now enjoy convenient control of your Control4 system on your mobile device.
Troubleshooting
If you have trouble identifying your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, here are a few things to check: 1. Confirm that youve properly entered the Mobile Navigator License for your device in your my.control4.com account. See Activate the Mobile Navigator License for details. 2. Confirm that your Controller has learned of the Mobile Navigator License entered in my.control4.com. See Synchronize Subscriptions on the Controller for details. 3. Confirm that your mobile device is communicating on the same network in which your Control4 Controller is configured. You should have a WiFi Access Point (WAP) or router connected to and configured to operate on the same IP network or LAN as your Control4 Controller.

Locate the driver and double click it to add it to your project. Click the Connections view, and then click the Network tab. Double-click the Control4 iPad Navigator device name (or whichever mobile driver you added). The Identify dialog opens and provides instructions to identify your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad. Press the appropriate button on the device to identify it to the Control4 system.
