Installation time Installation work will take approx. 2 hours; this time may vary depending on the condition and equipment specification of the car. The vehicle must be updated to the latest I-level status by flashing before installing the retrofit. Differing programming times may be necessary depending on the production age of the vehicle and on work previously performed on the vehicle. The installation time given does not include time needed for programming/encoding. The total costs for the programming time should be taken into account when calculating retrofitting costs (reimbursement through warranty is not permissible). Important notes These installation instructions are intended in the first instance for use within the BMW dealer organisation and by authorised BMW Service outlets. The target group for these installation instructions is always skilled personnel who have been trained on BMW vehicles and possess the corresponding specialist knowledge. All work is to be performed using up-to-date BMW repair instructions, circuit diagrams, maintenance manuals and procedural instructions in a rational sequence and with the specified tools (special tools), taking into account the relevant safety regulations. To avoid unnecessary extra work and/or costs, if any installation or function problems occur, after a brief troubleshooting session (approx. 0.5 hours), contact the following: 1. Either your national sales company or your regional office or 2. The Support team via the Aftersales Assistance Portal (ASAP) using the optional technical parts support application. Quote the VIN and the part number of the retrofit kit and provide a detailed description of the problem. Do not file the printout of these installation instructions, as there are daily updates via ASAP! See ASAP for explanations of the pictograms. All illustrations show left-hand-drive vehicles; proceed in the corresponding manner when working on right-hand-drive vehicles.

Subject to technical modifications! When installing the cables/wires, take care not to kink or damage them. The costs of rectifying such damage will not be met by BMW AG. Additional cables/leads installed must be secured with cable straps. If the pin chambers quoted are occupied, you will need to create bridges, double crimps or parallel stops. Note on ordering The operating unit for lights D and driver's footwell module E must be changed. The parts are not included in the retrofit kit (identification and part numbers, see EPC). Notes on assembly In some cases only the installation procedure for the left side of the vehicle is shown; proceed correspondingly on the right side of the vehicle. List of optional equipment items The following optional items of equipment should be taken into account when installing the retrofit kit: SA 322 SA 522 SA 524 SA 536 Keyless Go BiXenon Adaptive Headlight Auxiliary heater
