212 - Problem Set 4

This document provides the instructions and problems for Physics 212 Problem Set #4. Students are instructed to read several sections from their textbook and then complete 10 practice problems related to concepts of current, resistance, circuits, and Ohm's Law. The problems cover topics such as calculating current through a DVD player, determining battery life, finding equivalent resistances in series and parallel circuits, and analyzing circuits using voltage-current-resistance charts.

Problem Set #4

Read: 17.1 – 17.4, 18.1, 18.2 and then do the problems.

1) A DVD player in a computer draws a current of 0.27 A. How
many electrons pass through the player in one minute? 5)362 °C 9) 14.7 Ω
6) a) 13 V 10) Req = 15 Ω
2) A camcorder can run off of a charged battery pack for 2 b) 37 V Ibatt = 2 A
