How to use the above chart*: For example, if you got a Quant Score of 48 (82%) and a Verbal Score of
37 (80%), then from the above chart you would have a score close to a 700. From the chart below, a
700 would be in the 90th percentile.

Main Takeaways
The Verbal Score has a long tail. The highest quant score, 51, is only the 98th percentile. On the
other hand, the 99th percentile for verbal starts at a 46. This means verbal raw scores of 46, 47, 48,
49, 50, and 51 are all 99th percentile. This brings me to my next point:
The Importance of the Verbal Score: While both the Quant and Verbal Scores are important, the
verbal score is especially important. Somebody amazing in Verbal and okay in Quant will have an
overall higher score than someone amazing in Quant and okay in verbal. Someone with Q44
(68%), V48(99%) will score a 740 (97th percentile overall) versus someone with a Q51 (98%),
V34(68%) will score a 710 (92nd percentile). The long tail in verbal means someone really strong in

verbal could make up for a weak quant score.

The AWA (i.e. the essay section) has a separate score and is irrelevant to your overall score which is
out of 800. As long as you score above a 4 (out of 6) on the AWA, you should be fine. More on

*This table should be used as an estimate only. Percentiles for the Verbal and Quant Sections are from
mba.com. The scores are derived based on forum postings and extrapolation. Actual score may vary +/10 points or more. Note that the lowest score displayed on the chart is a 400 (13%). I did this to keep
that chart from becoming too large to display on the page.

Good information, I was looking for it

What I observe is that a good math score and offset a poor verbal score.
Means scoring full in maths can make sure that overall one doesnt fall below 90 percentile.
As compared to the entrance exams in my country math is good and can be done.

Quantitative is easier and a good score is easy in that
