Seeing Me Wiki Tutorial

To log in: Go to www.wikispaces.com

1. Click log in 2. Username: eftcurtis 3. Password: Amharic 4. Click on seeingme

under the Favorite Wikis list

Adding Smores, Glogs, and other Web-based Projects:

1. Open the student project youd like to place on the Wiki. Determine the
country/region it fits into.

2. Copy the url 3. On the wiki, open the appropriate country/region page. Note that there
are more options than are automatically displayed, so if you do not see a page that fits, click on see more. If there is still not a relevant page, skip down to the tutorial on creating a page.

4. Click on Edit in the upper right-hand corner. (NOTE You can edit any
Wiki page by clicking on its edit button, should information on other pages need updated.)

5. If the book is already listed, skip to step 12. 6. Insert your book cover image. (I usually just go find the largest one on
Google Image search.) Do this by clicking on File in the toolbar

7. Click on + Upload Files to find your file, wherever you have saved it. 8. Your file will appear as below. Click on the file to place it on the page.

9.

Your picture will automatically show up as pictured below. Click on the plus or minus signs to adjust the size if needed. Then just click off in the white space to deselect the picture and allow you to type.

10. Beneath the picture, type By: (insert author name and Illustrated by: (insert name) since these are often difficult to read in the picture.

11. Beneath the heading Links for further information (add this if it is missing), insert your link by selecting Link from the toolbar (see above image of toolbar).

12. Click on Web Address on the lefthand side. Paste the link into the Address box. Name the link in the Link Text box. I have been naming and numbering them based on the file type. For example, a book might have listed as links ThingLink 1, ThingLink 2, Glog 1, Smore 1. Also please select the New Window check box.

13. Click Add Link 14. Do be sure to hit enter BEFORE adding any additional links to avoid mixing them up. 15. Once you are done adding links, click Save in the toolbar.
