Amigurumi Gir - Robot


Materials: Lion Brand Glitterspun or Weight category 4 - Medium: Worsted-weight Yarn - 1 skein (115 yards) Silver #150 Lion Brand Microspun or Weight category 3 - Light: DK, Light Worsted Yarn - A small amount of each Turquoise #148 Ebony #153 Crochet hook, size F-5 (3.75 mm) Stitch markers Polyl for stufng Yarn needle Alternate Version: For alternate Duty Mode Gir, replace Turquoise with Lion Brand Microspun Cherry Red #113 or Lion Brand Glitterspun Ruby #113 throughout. Finished Size: Approximately 10 tall, including antenna. Gauge: Gauge is unimportant. You may use yarn of different weight categories to alter the size of your nished Gir, amounts needed may vary according to the weight used. Your stitches should be as tight as possible so that the stufng wont come out. Notes: All parts are worked in Continuous Rounds; mark the rst stitch of each round. I work over my beginning ends so I dont have to weave them in afterwards. Ends used for attachment are pulled inside after nishing off.

Head

With Silver, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; do not join; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 3: 2 sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Rnd 4: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 24 sc. Rnd 5: (Sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 32 sc. Rnd 6: (Sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 40 sc. Rnd 7: (Sc in next 4 sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 48 sc. Rnd 8: Working in Back Loops only, sc in each sc around: 48 sc. Rnd 9: (Sc in next 10 sc, decrease by working the next 2 sc together) around: 44 sc. Rnds 10-13: Sc in each sc around: 44 sc. Rnd 14: (Sc in next 9 sc, decrease) around: 40 sc. Rnds 15-17: Sc in each sc around: 40 sc. Rnd 18: Sc in next 4 sc, decrease, (sc in next 8 sc, decrease) 3 times, sc in next 4 sc: 36 sc. Rnds 19-21: Sc in each sc around: 36 sc. Rnd 22: (Sc in next 7 sc, decrease) around: 32 sc. Rnd 23: Sc in each sc around: 32 sc. Rnd 24: Sc in next 3 sc, decrease, (sc in next 6 sc, decrease) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc: 28 sc. Rnd 25: (Sc in next 5 sc, decrease) around: 24 sc. Rnd 26: (Sc in next sc, decrease) around: 16 sc.

Stuff rmly before nishing neck. Rnd 27: Decrease around: 8 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off leaving a long end for sewing.

Eyes (make 2)

With Turquoise, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; do not join; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 3: 2 sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off. Rnd 4: Join Silver with sl st; working in Back Loops only, sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Rnds 5-6: Sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Rnd 7: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease) around: 12 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff rmly and attach to lower half of Head, using image for placement reference.

Alternate Eyes for Duty Mode Gir Only (make 2)


With Cherry Red (or Ruby), ch 7. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 6 sc. Row 2: Decrease by working next 2 sc together, sc next two sc, decrease: 4 sc. Row 3: Decrease by working next 2 sc together, 2 times: 2 sc. Finish off.

Rnd 1: Working in Back Loops only, join silver to starting ch row with sc, sc in each ch across (6 sc total across), work 4 sc into end, sc in Back Loops only in each sc on the next side (2 sc total), work 4 sc into next end: 16 sc. Rnds 5-6: Sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Rnd 7: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease) around: 12 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff rmly and attach to lower half of Head, using image for placement reference.

Rnds 4-11: Sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Rnd 12: Working in Back Loops only, (sc in next 2 sc, decrease) around: 12 sc. Stuff rmly before nishing neck. Rnd 13: (Sc in next sc, decrease) around: 8 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off. Sew Head to Body. With Turquoise, ch 6. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 5 sc. Row 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across: 5 sc. Finish off leaving a long end (approximately 10) for sewing. Attach to center front of body, using image for placement reference.

Mouth

With Ebony, stitch on Mouth, using image for placement reference.

Antenna

With Silver, ch 16. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 15 sc. Finish off leaving a long end for sewing. With Turquoise, ch 3, join to rst ch, Finish off. Attach Turqouise ball to end of the silver antenna and work the ends into the antenna being careful that the turquoise doesnt show. Attach completed antenna to the center of the head.

Arms (make 2)

With Turquoise, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; do not join; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 3: Sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 4: Decrease around: 4 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off, stuff rmly. Rnd 5: Join Silver; sc in each sc around: 4 sc. Rnds 6-10: Sc in each sc around: 4 sc. Row 11: Flatten arm; sc the 1st & 3rd stitches together; this creates the wrist. Row 12-13: Ch 1, turn, 1 sc. Finish off.

Body

With Silver, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; do not join; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 3: 2 sc in each sc around: 16 sc.

With Turquoise, stitch around wrist. Pull long end of yarn through the center of the arm and use to attach arms to body. Attach Arms to Body, using image for placement reference.

Rnd 5: Decrease, sc in next 6 sc: 7 sc. Rnd 6: Sc in each sc around: 7 sc. Rnd 7: Decrease, sc in next 5 sc: 6 sc. Rnd 8: Sc in each sc around: 6 sc. Rnd 9: Decrease, sc in next 4 sc: 5 sc. Rnd 10: Decrease, sc in next 3 sc: 4 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff rmly and attach to Body, using image for placement reference. Sing the Doom Song with your new robot, Gir.

Legs (make 2)

With Silver, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; do not join; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 3: Working in Back Loops only, sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around: 8 sc.

Amigurumi Gir - Dog


Materials: Lion Brand Microspun or Weight category 3 - Light: DK, Light Worsted Yarn - 1 skein (115 yards) Lime #194 - A small amount of each Lily White #100 Cherry Red #113 Ebony #153 Lion Brand Glitterspun or Weight category 4 - Medium: Worsted-weight Yarn - A small amount of Silver #150 Crochet hook, size F-5 (3.75 mm) Stitch markers Polyl for stufng Yarn needle Finished Size: Approximately 7 tall. Gauge: Gauge is unimportant. You may use yarn of different weight categories to alter the size of your nished Gir, amounts needed may vary according to the weight used. Your stitches should be as tight as possible so that the stufng wont come out. Notes: Mark the rst stitch of each round, do not work Head or Body in Continuous Rounds. I work over my beginning ends so I dont have to weave them in afterwards. Ends used for attachment are pulled inside after nishing off.

Head

Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, (sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next sc; join: 24 sc. Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc, (sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next 2 sc; join: 32 sc. Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc, (sc in next 7 sc, 3 sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc; join: 40 sc. Rnd 7: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, 3 sc in next sc, (sc in next 9 sc, 3 sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next 4 sc; join: 48 sc. Rnds 10-27: Ch 1, sc each sc; join with slip st to ch at beginning of round: 64 sc. Rnd 28: Ch 1, sc in next 6 sc, decrease by working the next 3 sc together (forms corner decrease), sc in next 13 sc, corner decrease, sc in next 4 sc, sc in back loops only of next 5 sc (this is used for placing the body for attachment), sc in next 4 sc, corner decrease, sc in next 13 sc, corner decrease, sc in next 6 sc; join: 56 sc.

Rnd 29: Ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, corner decrease, (sc in next 11 sc, corner decrease) 3 times, sc in next 5 sc; join: 48 sc. Rnd 30: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, corner decrease, (sc in next 9 sc, corner decrease) 3 times, sc in next 4 sc; join: 40 sc. Rnd 31: Ch 1, sc in next 3 sc, corner decrease, (sc in next 7 sc, corner decrease) 3 times, sc in next 3 sc; join: 32 sc. Rnd 32: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, corner decrease, (sc in next 5 sc, corner decrease) 3 times, sc in next 2 sc; join: 24 sc. Rnd 33: Ch 1, sc in next sc, corner decrease, (sc in next 3 sc, corner decrease) 3 times, sc in next sc; join: 16 sc. Stuff rmly before nishing Head. Rnd 34: Ch, (corner decrease), (sc in next sc, corner decrease) 2 times, do not join: 8 sc. Rnd 35: (Decrease by working the next 2 sc together) around: 4 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off and weave in ends.

Tongue

With Red, ch 4. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 3 sc. Row 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across: 3 sc. Finish off leaving a long end for sewing. Attach along the ends of the rows to center front of head at bottom edge, using image for placement reference.

Nose & Sewing Line Detail

With Black, stitch down the center front of the head along the row created by the beginning chains. Start at the top edge and work down, stitch the nose about 1/2 inch from the bottom edge, then continue stitching to bottom edge and into tongue. Use image for placement reference.

Row 7: Ch 1, turn; sc next sc, decrease by working next 2 sc together: 2 sc. Rows 8-11: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across: 2 sc. Finish off leaving a long end for sewing. Attach at top back corners of head, using image for placement reference.

Eyes (make 2)

With white, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; do not join; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 3: 2 sc in each sc around: 16 sc. Rnd 4: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 24 sc. Rnd 5: (Decrease by working the next 2 sc together, sc in next 4 sc) around: 20 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off leaving a long end for sewing. With Black, stitch knot in center of eye (a French Knot works well). Attach to lower half of Head on either side of sewing line, using image for placement reference. Remember to stuff before closing off.

Body

With Lime, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around; join with slip st to rst sc: 8 sc. Rnd 3: Ch 1 (counts as rst sc, here and throughout), 3 sc in next sc, (sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc) 3 times; join with slip st to ch at beginning of round: 16 sc. Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in next sc, 3 sc in next sc, (sc in next 3 sc, 3 sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next sc; join: 24 sc. Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next sc, (sc in next 5 sc, 3 sc in next sc) 3 times, sc in next 2 sc; join: 32 sc. Rnds 6-7: Ch 1, sc each sc; join: 32 sc. Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in next 2 sc, decrease by working the next 3 sc together (forms corner decrease), (sc in next 5 sc, corner decrease) 3 times, sc in next 2 sc; join: 24 sc. Rnds 9-14: Ch 1, sc each sc; join: 24 sc. Rnd 15: Ch 1, sc in next 5 sc, decrease by working next 2 sc together, sc in next 10 sc, decrease, sc in next 4 sc; join: 22 sc. Rnd 16: Ch 1, sc in next 4 sc, decrease by working next 2 sc together, sc in next 9 sc, decrease, sc in next 4 sc, join: 20 sc.

Ears (make 2)

With Black, ch 5. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 4 sc. Rows 2-3: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across: 4 sc. Row 4: Ch 1, turn; sc next sc, decrease by working next 2 sc together, sc in next sc: 3 sc. Rows 5-6: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across: 3 sc.

Finish off leaving a long end for sewing.

Stuff rmly and attach to Head, using unworked loops on lower back edge of Head for starting reference.

Tail

With Black, ch 8. Row 1: Sl st in second chain from hook, sc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next ch: 6 stitches. Finish off leaving a long end for sewing. Attach back of Body, using image for placement reference.

Arms (make 2)

With Black, start with an adjustable loop. Rnd 1: Work 4 sc into loop; do not join; tighten the loop. Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnds 3-4: Sc in each sc around: 8 sc. Rnd 5: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) around: 12 sc. Rnds 6-8: Sc in each sc around: 12 sc. Sl st in next stitch; nish off leaving a long end for sewing. Stuff rmly, sew edges of arm together, and attach to Body, using image for placement reference.

Zipper

With Silver, ch 9. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 8 sc. Row 2: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across: 8 sc. To make zipper pull: Row 3: Ch 1, work 2 sc in ends of rows: 2 sc. Rows 4-6: Ch 1, turn; sc in each sc across: 2 sc. Finish off leaving a long end for sewing. Work end past zipper pull and attach zipper to front of Body, using image for placement reference. Do not attach zipper pull. Use Black to stitch on zipper teeth. Get a Cupcake to share with your new dog, Gir.

Legs (make 2)
