Nielsen Watermarks Encoder 3G (NWE3G)

Product Overview:The NWE-3G is the ideal solution for inserting Nielsen Watermarks into the audio for television programming. The timestamp structured watermarks make use of the "SID" (Source Identifier), which is a serial number used by Nielsen and the television industry to uniquely identify program content, to ensure proper crediting of viewing. The NWE-3G accepts an SDI input (3 Gb/s, 1.5 Gb/s, or 270 Mb/s) and 4 AES-3id digital audio inputs. It applies the watermark to up to 16 PCM audio channels selected from the 16 embedded and 8 AES channels. Embedded audio signals that are watermarked are re-embedded into the same location in the SDI output. AES audio signals that are watermarked are re-encoded into the same AES output. The module can be configured to support a variety of audio configurations, from a single stereo pair up to two 5.1 surround groups plus two stereo pairs. The NWE-3G includes a video frame delay to ensure proper audio-video synchronization. The companion rear connector module provides relay bypass of the video and AES signals, allowing the NWE-3G module to be inserted or extracted without interrupting the program path. The timestamp included in the watermark data can be synchronized to either SMPTE 12M LTC (both balanced and unbalanced inputs are provided) or network time obtained by the frame from an NTP server.

Features

3GHz video path with bypass relay protection Handles all popular SD and HD video formats, up to 1080p/59.97 4 AES-3id paths with bypass relay protection Transparent to VANC and HVANC data Both video and audio are delayed by one video frame time (two frames for 59.97Hz progressive formats) Up to 5 NWE-3G modules can be installed in a single 2RU frame; alternatively, 1 NWE-3G can be installed with up to 16 other cards RS232 port for external / automation control and monitoring DashBoard control with selectable alarming on video, audio and time inputs 5-year transferable warranty

Automation
1. Simplified batch file syntax Attached latest batch file. Note the new BatchName and AudioInterface parameter entries which were there earlier but with messy syntax. Rest remains same. ContentName line is just to show example of how to add content and their scenarios. Automation ignores that line. 2. Batch folder For every batch, automation creates folder with BatchName (@Mac: /media/capture/autoprocess, /media/capture/autoprocess/wav and @ X:\Encoder\autoprocess). All the decode files, automation logs, performance sheet and wav files are created under respective batch folder. This way files are organized automatically and next batch can be started by JUST changing the batch name. 3. Run folder Each run related decode, performance files are created under respective BatchName/runname folder. Each runname consists of batchname+contentname+scenarioname+timestamp 4. Play log You will see AutomationPlayLog.txt file in X:\Encoder\autoprocess. Keep watching this file. All it should have is play request received and play started successfully. As long as there are no errors in this file, automation play side is working fine.

If there are any error entries, that means run at that time was failed to start playing file. Analyze such failed run log file under respective run folder. Need to re-run that scenario. 5. Capture Log Respective run folder has AutomationLog.txt. It has complete logs from the point of batch started. Particular run related logs will be at the very last. This log file also pulls the logs from remote play and AC3/Downmix Mac and aggregates into this log file. 6. BatchName_Performance All the runs performance data is aggregated into BatchName_Performance.xls sheet which is available under BatchName folder. This is nothing but earlier consolidated performance sheet. This needs to be compared with baseline. 7. Downmix Mac 5.1+Stereo (PCM) NW3G encoded output is captured on first Mac (macpro-5), and 5.1 NW3G encoded output is captured on second Mac (macpro-3).
