Sealord Fever 2013 Issue Three
After the most glorious summer in living memory the 2013 football season has gotten off to a damp start. Three matches and three rainy Saturdays. Some teams let that sort of the thing bother them but the Sealords arent like other teams and take adversity on the chin. It is a bit depressing though so cheer yourself up with a read of the latest issue of the famed Sealord Fever. Check out that Cap 10 table while youre at it. Sea-what??? (And congrats to Robin and the boys for taking out title number twenty!) Enjoy, Paddy
Following the marathon journey into the deepest, darkest depths of the Hutt Valley last week, Sealords players and fans were both looking forward to returning to the upper-middle class suburban paradise that is Karori. Karori Park No.2 would be host to the Sealords first Wharfies derby of the season against the unknown Waterside Stags. And for the second week in a row Manager Drysdale had a full match day squad of sixteen to choose from. Assembled into the traditional four-four-two Manager Drysdale gave Captain Drysdale his first start of the season (after two impressive cameos from the bench) and was forced into a late change with the non-arrival of Greg My plane was late Severinsen, bumping Kris Emma Annear into the starting line-up. In the pouring rain the Lords lined up in their traditional black and white stripes while the Stags wore the alternate green strip with Tom Horse Newby picking up the whistle. The game kicked-off with the Sealords seeking to impose the fluid passing game on the opposition but the Stags quickly showed they were going to be no push overs. The Stags were moving the ball well up front and for the first time this season the Sealords defenders were under some real pressure, particularly at set pieces. A talented central midfield was also creating plenty of work for Mike Stringer Stringer and Joey No Subs Drysdale in the centre of the park. Fortunately the Stags were giving plenty of space and time to the Lords attack allowing them to create a number of chances. Unfortunately none of them ended up in the back of the old onion bag, with Jakob Klinsmann Wollner, Mike Gravity Newton and Captain Drysdale all culprits. Referee Newby brought a very even first-half to an end with the scores tied at nil-all. The message from Manager Drysdale at the break was simple, impose ourselves more in the 50-50

challenges and keep creating chances. Referee Newby turned the whistle over to Jonny Tim Wild and took his place on the left wing. Marty Sex Appeal Sherwin and Craig Green Street Shufflebotham came off the bench while late arrivals Jason Big Daddy van Huttum and Greg Severinsen also came on. The second half was a completely different beast with the Sealords effectively dominating the Stags. A superb defensive effort reduced keeper Dan Why are you captain? White to stretching on the 18 yard line to keep warm. Up front the Sealords were putting the Stags under increasing pressure and creating plenty of chances. But the profligacy of the first half was still there, with Tom Newby, Jason van Hattum and Greg Severinsen adding their names to an inglorious list. Even the return of Captain Drysdale couldnt spark the Lords into life. As the game came to a close the Lords were left bitterly disappointed at drawing a game they shouldve won. The one consolation was getting Jonny Wilds refereeing performance out of the way without incident. For the second week in a row Lewis Mr Consistent Hensman picked up the man of the match award, with his central defensive partner Simon Treasure me Duncan and Greg Severinsen tying for second. With notable performances from Mikes Stringer and Newton as well. Result: Sealords 0 0 Waterside Stags

Scene of one of their most compelling victories last year the Sealords return to Waihora Park for round four! Kick off is 2.30pm, Saturday April 27th. I know Cannons Creek can be a bit rough around the edges but hopefully the Royal New Zealand Police College should be sending over a cadet wing to keep fans and players safe. See you there!
