Acti 9 & Compact NSX/NS: Short Form Selection Chart - 2011

This document contains cascading and discrimination tables for Schneider Electric's Compact NSX and NS circuit breakers. The tables show: 1) The enhanced breaking capacity in kA provided to downstream devices through cascading when paired with upstream devices. 2) The enhanced discrimination/selectivity limit in kA provided through cascading between two devices. 3) Which combinations of circuit breakers provide total discrimination up to the reinforced breaking capacity of the downstream device. The tables apply only to cases with combined discrimination and cascading between two circuit breakers rated at 380/415V. They indicate the enhanced protection provided by cascading upstream and downstream devices.

Selectivity / discrimination limit

enhanced by cascading (in kA)

A box containing two equal values (shaded area) indicates

that discrimination is provided up to the reinforced
breaking capacity of the downstream device (total
discrimination). These tables apply only to cases with
combined discrimination and cascading between two
devices.
