The Project Window

The Maincomp will be the one where we do the edits. Double click 0. Main Composition an the timeline of the comp will open up.

1. Add Your Movies in HERE ! Is the folder containing the Videos used in the presentation. Double click a compostion to open it and add your own Videoclip.

2. Change The Headphone Text HERE ! Is the folder where you change the texts that show up on the left and right side of the hadphone to introduce the next video.

3. Change The Lower Third Text HERE ! Is the Folder where you edit the texts appearing in the lower third overlay during the videoclips.

4. Change Welcome Text HERE ! Is the composition where you edit the WELCOME text at the very beginning of the Project.

5. End Tag / Logo is where you edit the text at the very end of the Project. You can also add your Logo there.

The Timeline Window

On the Top youll nd the End Tag / Logo, the Welcome Text Compostion and the Welcome Text Audio to switch on and o. Double click the comps you want to edit to open their timeline.

Below the Welcome and End comps you will nd the Headphone Transition Comps. These are the comps with the turning Headphones and the Zoom in / out. Usualy you dont need to change anything in there, but you will need to move them in the timeline if you add a longer or shorter. Please see the chapter Add your own Video for further explanation.

Below the Transition Compositions, you see the Movie / Videoclip Comps. This is where you will add your own Clips. Doubleclick on any of the comps to open their timeline and add your Video there. If your video is longer or shorter then my examples, you will need to extend hte lenght of the comps. Please see chapter Add your own Video for further explanation how to do this.

The Orange Compositions with the END and START markers are the Headphone Transitions between your Videos. The Green Comps are the Videoclips that you will add. A means, that your video B should START there. You can extend your Video, and simply move the next Headphone transition to the end of your clip.

Here you can see an example where the green Videoclip Composition has been extended, and the following transitions and videoclips simply moved in the timeline until the END marker of the next transition matches with the end of the extended Comp.

Adding Your Own Videoclips

A. Open the Composition you would like to add your videoclip to, i.e. Your First Movie in HERE !. B is where you have to drag and drop your own videoclip. If you dont know how to import your own videos into a existing project, please read the After Eects manual as this is Basic Knowledge. Same applies on how to extend the Composition to match your Videoclip length.

If you dont need the Lower Third, or want that without Sound, simply toggle the visible and sound switches to ON/OFF. To change the text on the Lower Third, just double click The according Composition and type your text.

In the Maincomp, there are Auto Fade Ins and Fade Outs for the Audio of your added Videoclips. You can swithc them o, or edit the length (see screenshot).

Adding your Own Texts To The Headphones

Open the Folder Change the Headphone Texts HERE!

Open any of the comps named : Texts Headphone X by double clicking. You will now see the according timeline with Right & Left. Double click the layers to edit the text to your needs and DO NOT MOVE THE POSITION OF THE TEXT !

These are the texts that appear on the left and right of the headphones to introduce the next Videoclip. DO NOT MOVE THEIR POSITION or they will not show up correctly in the main composition.

Adding your Own Texts To The Lower Thirds

Open the Folder Change the Lower Third Texts HERE!

Edit the text by double clicking or highlighting it.

If you dont want the sound fx for the lower thirds, simply toggle the loudspeaker symbol switch OFF.

Adding your Own Background to the Headphone Comps

You can add your own Background to the Headphone Transition Comps as they all have a Alpha Channel. Simply go into any of the Headphone Transition Comps and switch o the Background Layer.

This is how it looks, when the Background has been disabled. Theres now room for your very own Backgrounds.

Changing the Sound FX

You can choose between 2 dierent Soundsets for the Headphone Transitions. Opne up any of the Headphone comps and switch on / o the sound fx as you like it to be. You will have to do this for EACH transition composition.

If you dont want to use the sound FX for the lower third. You can switch the audio layer o.
