Narrative Essay

The narrative essay tells a story about a man who has an exceptionally smart parrot that can say every word except for its place of birth, "Catano". The man tries various methods to get the parrot to say the word, becoming increasingly angry, until he throws the parrot in with some chickens slated to be eaten. The next day, he discovers the chickens dead and the parrot threatening the last chicken to say "Catano" or be killed.

NARRATIVE ESSAY THE SMARTEST PARROT Once upon time, a man had a wonderful parrot. There was no other parrot like it. The parrot could say every word, except one word. The parrot would not say the name of the place where it was born. The name of the place was Catano. The man felt excited having the smartest parrot but he could not understand why the parrot would not say Catano. The man tried to teach the bird to say Catano however the bird kept not saying the word. At the first, the man was very nice to the bird but then he got very angry. You stupid bird! pointed the man to the parrot. Why cant you say the word? Say Catano! Or I will kill you the man said angrily. Although he tried hard to teach, the parrot would not say it. Then the man got so angry and shouted to the bird over and over; Say Catano or Ill kill you. The bird kept not to say the word of Catano. One day, after he had been trying so many times to make the bird say Catano, the man really got very angry. He could not bear it. He picked the parrot and threw it into the chicken house. There were four old chickens for next dinner You are as stupid as the chickens. Just stay with them Said the man angrily. Then he continued to humble; You know, I will cut the chicken for my meal. Next it will be your turn, I will eat you too, stupid parrot. After that he left the chicken house. The next day, the man came back to the chicken house. He opened the door and was very surprised. He could not believe what he saw at the chicken house. There were three death chickens on the floor. At the moment, the parrot was standing proudly and screaming at the last old chicken; Say Catano or Ill kill you.

TELEVISION
Television, or TV, is one of humanity's most important means of communication. It brings pictures and sounds from around the world into millions of homes. People with a television set can sit in their house and watch the president makes a speech or visits a foreign country. They can see a war being fought, and they can wacth government leaders try to bring about peace. Through television, viewers at home can see and learn about peopl, places, and things in a away lands. Television even takes viewers out of this world as the astronauts explore outer space. In addition to all these things, television brings its viewers a steady stream of programmes that are designed to entertain. In fact, TV provides many more entertainment programmes than any other kind of information media. The programmes include action-packed dramas, light comedies, soap operas, sports events, cartoons, quizzes, variety shows and motion pictures. More than 83 million homes in the United States - or 98% of all the country's homes have at least one television set. On the average, a television set is in use in each home for about 6 3/4 hours each day. As a result, television has an important influence on how people spend their time, as well as on what they see and learn. After they arrive from work, they usually watch TV. Then, the importance of television is proven.

TASK 6: Write a short reflection about this activity. For this week, we had given tasks about identified types of sentences and text types. We had done this task in grouping. In a group of three, each person had done one task each. During completing this task, we had discussed to present a good work. Besides, we had found many sources to refer. The sources are very informative and useful. Also, when doing this task we had found many inputs and new knowledge to improve our English writing skills. These information can enhance our vocabulary, grammar and comprehension English.
