It is so crazy how fast time flys. It feels like just yesterday I was leaving for the DR but I am now in Taiwan!! Looking back on my time in the DR I see so much of why the Lord took me there. I learned more about leadership on this trip than I thought possible. Not that I thought I knew everything, I dont, but I was confronted in totally different areas than I ever had been before. This was probably the most difficult trip that I have taken as far as team dynamics. It almost seemed as though everything was against us as a team. We were small in number, mainly introverted, shy and quiet as a team, struggling against passivity. (Polar opposite of me!!) The Latin culture is warm, welcoming, and hospitable thankfully this quickly helped us as a team adjust to life there. Soon after we began to see God do mighty things. One exciting story I will share is when we were doing ministry in a hospital:: We were praying for people and met a girl who had been in the hospital since Monday it was Friday and she had yet to see the doctor. She had x-rays taken and allowed us to see them. We saw a fracture in her bone and she was in so much pain she couldnt even move her head. We began to pray...little by little the more we prayed the more release of pain she was feeling. After some time she was able to get out of bed!! The doctor came in and looked at her and told her that there was nothing wrong and that she could go home. We looked again at the x-ray and saw a change on there as well. God totally healed her, answered our prayers and was a testimony to her family!!
that Christ set us free from the law. He wanted to remind them to walk and be confident in that freedom.
