Adjusting Screen Resolution and Refresh Settings

Instructions for Mac OS X 10.6: 1. Make sure that the VGA cable from the projector is connected to the laptop (you will probably need an adaptor, depending on the model of the computer you're using) 2. Log in to the computer and click on "System Preferences" in the dock [Image 1]; you can also get to the same menu by clicking on the Apple icon in the upper lefthand corner and clicking on "System Preferences" 3. In the System Preferences menu, click on "Displays" [Image 2] 4. Two windows will open (one behind the other). Make sure that you are working in the one titled "Display" and not "Color LCD" (or similar) [Image 3] 5. Select "1024 x 768" from the list of resolutions and wait a few seconds for the system to transition (it may look distorted on the laptop monitorthats ok) [Image 4] 6. Make sure that the "Refresh Rate" is set to 60 Hertz [Image 4] 7. Click on the "Arrangement" tab in the same window [Image 5] 8. Make sure that the box for "Mirror Displays" is checked [Image 5] 9. Log in to the PC and click the Start button in the bottom left corner of the screen to open the computer's menu. [Image 1] 3. From the right column, select "Control Panel." [Image 2] 4. Under the "Appearance and Personalization" heading, select "Adjust screen resolution." [Image 3] 5. Click the "Advanced Settings" link (toward the bottom right of the window). [Image 4] 6. Click "List all modes." [Image 5] 7. From the list, select "1024 X 768, 60 Hz," if it is not selected already. [Image 6] 8. Click "Apply." Select "Appearances and Themes" [Image 3] (if you are viewing the Control Panel in "Classic Mode" skip to #4) 5. Select "Display" [Image 4] 6. Drag the slider to 1024 x 768 resolution [Image 5] 7. Click Apply to apply the changes 8. Without exiting the window, click the "Advanced" button in the lower right hand corner of the window [Image 5] 9.
