Zones Championships 9th and 10th March 2013 McGillivray Oval Information for Participating Centres
Welcome Welcome to the 2013 Zones Championships at McGillivray Oval. Enclosed is some information to help with your weekend. Parking McGillivray Oval has many parking locations as indicated on the map. Please do park in Challenge Stadium as they will issue fines. We have parking available in main car park as indicated on your map. There is additional parking in the Hockey park and around the venue. Please do not park along the road verge adjacent to storage shed and clubrooms. not the car our

Tent Sites Each centre has been allocated a tent site as per the map. There is also plenty of room for parents and competitors to sit on the main hill in the shade near the Pavilion. The hill provides good viewing of the whole arena. Zones Administration The administration for the Zones will take place from AJ Pavilion. All results will be posted on the windows once they are complete. Certificates will be available for collection from the boxes marked with your centres name located outside the clubroom. Only Officials and Championships Officers are allowed into the recording room at the AJ Pavilion. Please make parents and athletes aware of this. If there is an issue with an event then it must come through the clubs championship/protest officer. There will be special file clearly marked placed outside the Pavillion on the desk on Sunday which will have a copy of all Saturdays events.

Warm up Area We have playing fields adjacent to the athletics arena that can we used for warm up. Please make sure athletes stay well clear of other weekend sports that may be using the facilities. Vests To make officials identifiable on the day the following officials will be wearing coloured vests with their position on the back. We will also have a walky talky at each site to enable communication for record verifications, queries and to call officials. Channels will be clearly marked on the equipment and at sites. Event files Event files will be clearly marked and placed on the site ready for the morning competition. A program and rule specifications will be in each file. Event files must be returned at the end of the day to the Pavilion and event sheets returned to the Pavilion at the conclusion of each event. Facilities on the Day We will have the following facilities on the day. Canteen-A fully operational canteen caravan BBQ-selling hot dogs and burgers Coffee Van-selling tea/coffee and snacks Toilet Location Toilets are located behind the Pavilion as indicated on the map. These will be cleaned and stocked regularly throughout the weekend. We are also bringing in extra portable toilets for the event. These will also be cleaned and stocked over the weekend. Rules of the Venue McGillivray Oval is part of the sporting facilities owned by the University of WA. The following rules apply for our Zones weekend. No dogs allowed. Please note the 40 Km/Hr speed limits on the entry road off Brockway Road. No parents or competitors walking across the arena (unless taken by an event marshall Please and stay behind safety ropes /bunting on all field sites.

Closest Amenities Floreat Forum shopping centre is located approximately 1km down Brockway Road and is open on Saturday and the larger stores on Sunday from 11am. There are McDonalds and other fast food stores located by the service station on corner of Hay Street and Jersey Street Jolimont. The closest chemist open on Saturday is at Floreat Forum and on Sunday is Located on Cambridge St Wembley or Onslow Rd Shenton Park. The West Leederville Shopping Centre on Cambridge Street is open on Sunday. IGA Wembley (Cambridge st) and Shenton Park (Onslow Road) are also open all weekend. Parents/ Officials Roster Officials can collect their vests, walky talkies and files from the Pavilion. Please return them at the end of your assigned roster slot Can centres please ensure that parents are asked to report directly to their site or roster area. We continue to have parents coming to the Pavilion to check their parent roster and what they are on. Please make sure your display a copy of the parent roster at a point designated at your club tent. Medal Presentation Medal presentations for Under 7-9 will take place in a special presentation tent by the AJ Pavilion. We will endeavor to present medals as soon as they event has been checked. Information Board There will be a large information board with the program, track layout and other important information down trackside outside the UWALAC storage sheds. This information will also be duplicated outside the Zones office. Lost Property Will be collected and placed outside the AJ Pavilion near the announcers tent. Rubbish Green bins will be placed around the venue. Can you please ensure your area is clean at the end of each days competition.
