To reduce hysteresis in the speed set circuit and to improve the calibration schedule repeatability, 1. The nut which retains the diaphragm for the speed set valve and pilots and seats the speed set spring is modified for closer piloting. Also, the spring seat opposite the nut is similarly revised. The diaphragm cup pilot bore is reduced and the concentricity of the hole to the cup is decreased to maintain a 0.007 TIR concentricity of the diaphragm with the valve OD. This is done to minimize side loading of the valve and reduce hysteresis. A new design fuel metering valve assy allows freer movement of the valve relative to the spring seat which is positioned by the PC bellows. This reduces hysteresis in the action initiated by the speed set valve. The speed set valve temperature disc cavity in the housing is increased to prevent possible hysteresis.

CECO FUEL CONTROL-FUEL METERING VALVE ASSY, REPLACE AND SPEED SET DIAPHRAGM AND VALVE ASSY AND HOUSING AND INSERT ASSY, MODIFY DESCRIPTION: The accomplishment instructions are written in two parts: (1) fuel control disassembly and housing and insert assembly temperature disc cavity rework and (2) fuel control reassembly incorporating modified speed set diaphragm and valve assembly. new speed set valve spring seat and fuel metering valve assembly, calibration, and reidentification. Modification is recommended no later than nest overhaul following parts availability. FAA-DER Approved. It is estimated that an additional 0.5 man-hours will be required at overhaul. Disassemble Fuel Control and Rework Housing and Insert Assembly Temperature Disc Cavity. A. B. C. Disassemble the fuel control. Overhaul Manual, Volume II.) (Refer to Appendix A of 250-C20

Discard P/N 95127 Complete Fuel Metering Valve Assembly (5, Figure 1) and P/N 95306 Spring Seat (2). Disassemble P/N 94636 Diaphragm and Valve Assembly (2, Figure 2). Discard P/N 94206 Diaphragm Cup (5) and P/N 94438 Diaphragm Retainer (6). Rework P/N 97099 Housing and Insert Assembly to increase the speed set valve temperature disc cavity from 0.390-o. 380 to 0.420-o. 410 in. (See Figure 3. ) Depth must be 0.588-o. 578 in. with 0.005 in. minimum radius. Do not rework the chamfer but break the sharp edge of 0.420-o. 4iO in. diameter. Brush anodize reworked surfaces. Housing and insert assembly reidentification is not required. Calibrate and Reidentify the fuel control. Fuel Control. (Refer to Appendix A of the Overhaul

Assemble speed set diaphragm and valve assembly using new P/N 96317 Diaphragm Cup and P/N 96316 Diaphragm Retainer. (See Figure 2. ) Reidentify modified diaphragm and valve assembly as P/N 96315. Install new P/N 96969 Complete Fuel Metering Valve Assembly (5, Figure 1). Install new P/N 96319 Spring Seat (2, Figure 1).
