Dear Portland Baptist Family, Thank you for your ongoing prayers for our family. I wanted to let you know that the Surgeon has given me an "all clear" health wise. The church is going well but the suburbs of Melbourne can't hold a candle to the beauty of Portland. Please know we continue to pray for you as you are seeking a pastor to lead the church. Wanted: CRE Teachers


If you are contemplating taking on CRE this year, Access Ministries are soon to begin training. Once completed you are then accredited to go into the schools and teach. The training comprises simple PD (Professional Development), school protocols and student interaction. You will be given the opportunity to be present at a typical lesson in school. You will also need to hold a WORKING WITH CHILDREN CARD. Please give prayerful consideration to this important and rewarding ministry.

Silver Threads Craft Group


We wish to start this year with a sorting out of what to do for the year. All welcome and bring your ideas with you, plus your lunch. We will gather at the church hall at 12:00 midday this Tuesday 26th February. Two people have approached me offering wool for us to knit up, and there is material to sort out for projects. Robyn.

Depression Support Group Meeting Portland Arts Centre 7:30pm Tuesday 26th Feb
The first meeting for 2013 will be held at the Arts Centre this coming Tuesday, commencing 7.30pm. We look forward to another year of being together in our monthly meetings which are informal, practical and helpful. Be in touch with John and Judith 0428 780 421.

Our weekly Prayer Group meeting is held each Tuesday at Church House from 10:30-11:30am. Also special Prayer time Thursdays 7:30pm to pray specifically for the full-time Pastor for whom God has been preparing us. All welcome.

Thought for the week

FUEL Youth - Study and Tea in the Parents are welcome to Hall plus Games at Nuns Beach: Next use the room off the Friday starting 5:30pm foyer, with activities for children Harbourside Lodge Monthly Service: up to 2 years, if your child is unsettled. It is sound-linked to Next Sunday 3rd March - 2:00pm the auditorium.
