6.
Vendor shall only quote motors which shall have already been successfully type tested in accordance with relevant IEC standards. Type test reports shall be made available, on purchaser request with the bid.
7.
Motors shall be suitable for continuous operation at full load rating under a combined variation of the following voltage and frequency as per IEC 60034-1. Voltage fluctuation : 10% of rated Voltage 5% of rated Voltage
Frequency Fluctuation : 8.
The Vendor shall review the service conditions and shall apply moisture-proofing, anticorrosion protection and/or anti-tropical protection etc. to the motor.
9.
10. The motor rated Voltage, Phase and frequency shall be as follows. Supply voltage Phase Frequency (LV) : : : 415V (+/- 10%) 3 Phase 50Hz 5%
11. All motors shall be designed to operate for a periods of not less than 5 minutes at a voltage of 25% below the rated voltage at rated frequency without injuries overheating. 12. Motors shall be capable of starting (3) consecutive times starting from rated ambient temperature and two (2) consecutive times from rated operating temperature

Type of Enclosure
1. Enclosures of motors shall generally be of the totally enclosed fan-cooled (TEFC) type, weather protected IP 56 according to IEC. The degree of protection for Indoor Installation shall be IP31. 2. The motors for use in explosive gas atmospheres shall be of the following types of construction depending on the classifications of the hazardous locations in which they are to be installed:
A) Motors and their terminal boxes for use in Zone 1 area shall be flameproof enclosure d B) Motors and their terminal boxes for use in Zone 2 area shall be Increased safety e C) For motors to be installed in hazardous areas, the motors and all auxiliary electrical equipment mounted on the motor shall be certified for use in hazardous area. D) The motor manufacturer shall be contacted for advice as to any special recommendations or precautions that shall be adopted or followed with respect to the starting and normal running of the motor under the expected plant environment and conditions. Any such recommendations shall be fully complied with, and any special operational requirements shall be made known to client. 3. 4. The motors to be installed in non-hazardous area shall be of the weather protected type. Enclosures for weather protected type motors shall be designed to prevent entrance of liquids or solid through any openings such as air intakes, air outlets, enclosure joints or shaft extensions and the entrance of moisture and dust through the ventilating system to the enclosures shall be minimized. Motor openings shall be suitably screened to prevent the entrance of harmful materials. 5. 6. Frames shall be constructed from cast iron or fabricated steel. Vertical mounting motors for outdoor use shall have a drip shield over the fan.
4.3
Rotor 1. Rotors and external fans shall be balanced. Balance weights, if fitted, shall not be of lead or
similar ductile material and the rotor design shall allow for the addition of balancing weights.
2. The vibration in any plane shall not exceed 10 microns (0.010 mm) in total amplitude as
measured on the bearing housing at any operating speed. Each motor shall generally be provided with a coupling key on the motor shaft.
4.4
Insulation Class
The motor shall be of Insulation class F & the allowable temperature rise shall not exceed that of Class B

4.7
Terminal Boxes
1. Terminal box shall be located on the right hand side of the motor when viewed from the non drive-end and be capable of being turned in steps of 90 degrees. Vendor's standards shall be considered. 2. Terminal box of space heater or embedded thermal detectors shall be separately provided, if necessary, by Vendor's standard. 3. All motors shall be provided with cast iron terminal boxes which have adequate space for cable termination. Sheet steel terminal boxes may be used for general purpose type motor. Vendor shall submit drawings indicating dimensions of terminal boxes for approval. 4. Terminal in the terminal box shall be clearly and permanently marked with reference letters in accordance with applicable standards. 5. The terminal box and cable gland arrangement shall permit disconnection of the cable from the motor without disturbing the actual cable termination and seal.
