VBricks Lync Streaming Gateway integrated with VEMS or VEMS Mystro brings streaming video to users via Microsofts Lync unified communications interface. From Lync, people are able to access both live- and on-demand video making high impact information available right on the desktop. Availability status of content is displayed via Video Buddies, a unique innovation from VBrick that associates video content with contacts in Lync. With Video Buddies, users are able to easily access video content and then use the voice, text and screen-sharing collaboration tools in Lync to make quick decisions. Since Video Buddies doesnt require any desktop software downloads, a streaming video service is easy for a groups IT department to deploy and administer. VBricks seamless integration with Lync begins with the VBrick Enterprise Media System (VEMS), a powerful behind the scenes media management engine that provides purpose-built infrastructure for large scale video distribution and content discovery. VEMS intelligent video networking operates over VBricks award winning encoding appliances and optional reflectors (Windows Media and H.264) to provide for a complete enterprise streaming video solution. The Lync Streaming Gateway serves as the link between the VBrick video platform and the Lync 2010 Server. It was designed to tightly integrate VEMS directly with the Lync Server, without any software installation on the server or the desktop. The power of VEMS can now be leveraged by the Lync 2010 client, or any Lync-enabled application, in a secure and network-friendly environment.
