Substation Design Example

- The document provides information to design a single phase bus support for a substation in Nagpur, including the height, bus dimensions, short circuit forces, wind speeds, seismic data, and structural member details. - Analysis of short circuit, wind, and seismic loads on the bus, insulators, and structure are calculated. The combined wind and short circuit loading produces the greatest forces and moment at the base of 17,342 N and 3,930 N respectively. - The maximum compressive and tensile forces in each main leg member are calculated to be 25,221 N based on the moment at the base. The total applied load per leg including compression is 25,645 N.
