Aftermarket Disc Brake Pads: Quality with Top Marks directly from the OEM to the Aftermarket
Honeywell is now one of the largest OE suppliers in the international automobile sector. As an OEM, Honeywell has been approved by all the leading brands. With its Bendix and Jurid brands, Honeywell can thus provide retail and workshop partners in the parts market with top-quality disc brake pads.
Honeywell is a global player. Its largest production plant for friction lining materials and its European development center are located at Glinde near Hamburg. To maintain and further extend its technological advantage, Honeywell is investing in an R & D department of around 120 employees. Highly specialized chemists and process engineers are constantly working on the development of new products and production processes.
As an OEM and hundred-year-old pioneer of modern brake pads, we have also set very high quality standards for the pads, which far exceed the requirements set out in statutory standards such as ELV, REACH and ECE R90. The brake pads that Honeywell offers the parts market therefore have outstanding braking performance and service life figures, as well as superb functionality and accuracy of fit to each brake caliper. They also offer impressively low emission values in terms of noise and friction, and are produced using eco-friendly processes. 2
Irrespective of the brake pad, the selection of up to 30 different basic materials is the same for each one in the OE and the aftermarket. The open secret behind the quality is the consistently high grade of the basic friction material, the adhesive, binding material, metallic materials and the various fibers and granules. However, the innermost secret lies in the correctly proportioned sequence and mix of chemical, thermal and mechanical process engineering the specialist knowledge that has evolved over a century.
Perfect Quality, Part after Part for the OE and the Aftermarket
Q
Nevertheless, having the most sophisticated recipes and the friction material with the most bite is not enough on its own to make it a test winner. Each component must be of the same high standard to produce a brake pad of the quality that does justice to its origin a company with OE expertise. This is why Honeywell assumes direct control of the production, machining and finishing of all the components that go into its Bendix and Jurid brake pads: friction material, backing plates, shims, springs and sensors. The production location of the around 60 million brake pads is immaterial: whether overseas or at one of the European factories, the quality at Cond in France, at Glinde near Hamburg in Germany, and in the Spanish facilities in Alcala and Barcelona always satisfies OE requirements.

Logistics on Demand
As Bendix and Jurid brake pads both are produced based on OE quality standards, the brake pads that we offer the parts market are naturally also homologated in accordance with the ECE R90 minimum standard.
Compressibility Test
The compressibility test reveals the inner values of the friction material. The compressibility, heat transmission and thermal stability figures provide information about the noise, pedal travel, overheating and glazing that can later be expected.
Inertia Test
The in-house developed dynamometer, consisting of hardware and software, can simulate and analyze virtually all the variables and conditions between cause and effect. These include breakaway tests, tests with water, salt, varying temperatures, sound pressure level and frequency analyses, RTV / DTV tests and simulation of the vehicle weight.
Our Bendix and Jurid brand brake pads enjoy an excellent reputation in the industry and in the workshop. On the one hand, original OE brake pads and original aftermarket brake pads from Honeywell are as alike as two peas in a pod but, on the other, they can have different article numbers, company logos and car brands, depending on the distribution channel. Despite this superficial diversity, genuine Honeywell quality can be recognized from the lettering stamped on the carrier plate e.g. JURID.
We have two comprehensive storage and logistics centers to ensure the prompt and reliable delivery to our aftermarket partners in the retail market and in workshops. One is at Neunkirchen in Germany and the other is at Beauvais in France. With a total warehouse area of around 35,000 m and a capacity of around 15,000 pallets, more than 10,000 different products are on call to satisfy the needs of the aftermarket. This centralization of product provisioning also ensures an overview of the actual stocks on hand. Thanks to state-of-the-art, computerized logistics and semi-automatic warehouse systems, we can offer our partners an extremely flexible delivery service. Orders are processed immediately and products are prepared and shipped to the required location in next to no time even the next morning if required.
PARTService
At Honeywell, quality is more than just perfect product quality for auto industry OE and the independent aftermarket. With our PARTService, we provide all the other prerequisites for parts and partners to achieve mutual success in the aftermarket throughout Europe: Complete range of brake pads and brake parts with the matching
Aftermarket Disc Brke Pads / 33136 JBHO 2
Complete range of car and commercial vehicle brake discs We prepare the contents of the brake pad pack to ensure there are no handling errors in the aftermarket and in the workshop. This includes careful sorting, as well as the addition of accessories and fitting components to the pack. Everything from logistics to assembly must run smoothly, so each of the million packs is labeled to reflect its contents and marked in line with ECE R90. The Honeywell Aftermarket disc brake pad required a braking distance of no more than 38 meters. A vehicle fitted with the brake pad of a competitor without OE experience carried on for a further 17 meters and required a 55-meter braking distance. Backing up the impressive quality of these disc brake pads, which are well known to the market under the brand names Bendix and Jurid, is the cumulative expertise Honeywell has gained as an OEM, with extensive OE know-how and top-end, state-of-the-art production facilities. Unfortunately, awkward traffic situations happen more often than you think, even today. We can be glad that we do not have to rely purely on our own anticipatory vehicle handling skills, especially when pushing physical driving limits, but also on top-quality brake pads from an aftermarket partner with OE expertise. In official tests, the aftermarket disc brake pads of OE brands Bendix and Jurid keep scoring top marks most recently in an AMS comparison test held on the test track in Boxberg (Germany) in front of an audience of international media representatives. The test result emphasized once again the overwhelming superiority of aftermarket disc brake pads from the original equipment manufacturer Honeywell. The test, which was carried out according to the rules of the internationally recognized AMS test program and involved 10 emergency stops from 100 km/h, was greeted with enthusiasm:
