According to your education level, you must have the following years of On-the-Job Experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Quality Engineer Body of Knowledge. Diploma - 7 years experience Associate Degree - 6 years experience Bachelor's degree - 4 years experience Master's & above - 3 years experience

EXAMINATION
The Certified Quality Engineer candidate should pass a five-hour written examination that consists of 160 multiplechoice questions that measure comprehension of the Body of Knowledge. Acquiring the CQE indicates a professional level of competence in the principles of Quality Assurance. Individuals clearing CQE exam become member of a recognized professional group leading to rapid career advancement and greater acceptance in their role as an advisors to management.
Two Ways to Recertify 1. Recertification Journal: Obtain a minimum of 18 recertification units (RUs) during your three-year certification period. Document them in your recertification journal. 2. Examination: Sit for the exam. (Required if your certification expired and is past the six-month grace period)

Candidates may be randomly selected for a certification exam application audit. If selected for audit, a candidate must be able to officially document his or her professional work experience by providing a copy of his or her job descriptions to satisfy the eligibility.

The purpose of recertifying is to ensure that, as an ASQcertified quality professional, you maintain the same level of knowledge originally demonstrated when you passed the written examination To maintain the integrity of your Quality Engineer certification, ASQ requires that you recertify every three years.
