Punctuation Packs a Punch


There are many punctuation marks. Each of them has its own function.
Punctuation

Capital letter

Use
To start the first word of a
sentence.
To how a proper noun.
For example, a person, a
town, months, name of a
place.
For the pronoun I
For titles of books, plays,
movies and so on.
To separate items in a list.

Comma
After a yes or no answer.

Exclamation
mark

To show emotions such a


joy, anger, shock.
After greeting

Full stop
Question mark

To signal the end of a


sentence
To signal the end of a
question
